analyzing life out loud

I never completed college and I am 37 years old. I am silently judging myself as I type this. When I was in high school, I wanted to be an artist. My mother protested as she protested every decision I made. I was not a troublemaker either. She is just a control freak. I needed to get out from under her roof fast. That’s how I became a massage therapist. It provided me enough money to get away. I learned soon that becoming an esthetician would also keep me in demand. But it is not my dream. Truth be told; I am still asking myself the question “what do I want to be when I grow up?” What I do know is that no place will hire me without a bachelor’s degree.           

So at 37 years old I am now going back to school. And it’s a good time too. The day after I registered, I lost one of my part time jobs. If anyone has advice on how to pick your major please let me know. For now I have settled on Communications. I am the queen of indecision so this is a big step. I will be up for hours each night second guessing myself. I only hope that University of Phoenix is different than the slackers that I have been stuck with in the community college system. Those are remedial institutions at best of education and second that of babysitting. It was hard to take some instructors seriously when they are gossiping and flirting with students.

I plan on continuing after with my Fashion Design Certificate and either Graphic Arts, Sociology, or if I get really ambitious Architecture. Did I mention that I have indecision issues? LOL.
