Much to her mother's chagrin, she refused to acknowledge that she was part Altmer at all. The high-elf heritage that she gained from her mother is as meaningless as the tiny puffs of white clouds in a relentlessly blue sky, void of significance and thoroughly ignored. As far as Dhevi was concerned, she was of the sea, a Maormer Pirate through and through. She had no use for the chauvinist pomp and circumstance of the Dominion, and the very idea that there was something in that other world which could lay claim to even a tiny piece of her personal history disgusted her...

Her father sent money to her mother when he could, but that stopped abruptly when a skooma addict put a filthy knife between his ribs; he died from sepsis four days later. She never knew his name.  To make ends meet, her mother picked up some odd jobs here and there, including quietly offering other forms of recreation to bar patrons....
