sometimes when i’m anxious, touch can make me feel trapped and claustrophobic because my mind is so full of a million and one thoughts. physical space and freedom of movement is the only thing i have left to ground myself.

sometimes when i am dealing with my ptsd i need to know that it’s o k to control if and how i am touched since i didn’t have that power in the past when my trauma occured. when i don’t feel that i have control, it brings back feelings of shame and fear.
