Violet had rough start to life as all streetkids do, in her case her parents died in a car crash when she was young (around 7) and from then on bounced from care home to care home until her late teens where she joined the Valentinos. She actually enjoyed belonging to a group and learnt lots of valuable life lessons particularly from Padre who fulfilled that wise, father figure role for her. V greatly respects Padre and most of her moral compass goes back to him.
V is deeply impacted by the loss of Jackie who became her first best friend in her entire life. She truly believed the would make it together and realise his dream. Violet is always finding a way to achieve his dream in her own way and to honour his memory.
V unsurprisingly is always craving that familial connection so to no-one's surprise V admires the nomad way of life and really gets close to Panam, who is like a long-lost sister to her. She envies the family unit that the nomads have crafted for themselves and thus she craves that for herself! Panam is truly her bestie in life.
Major decisions (warning spoilers ahead!)

V has a massive crush on Takemura which is one sided and then finally fixes her attention on the brooding, irresistibly handsome cop, River Ward, during their 1st meeting and mission together.
Violet falls for River particularly after she sees the way he supports and looks after his sister, niece and nephews during the Randy rescue mission. In particular, the way after Randy is saved how welcoming the family are to her and that she has found her own little familial clan and she really likes how similar they are to the nomad clans being out of the city by being self-sufficient etc
Violet falls hard for River and likes that he goes down the PI route and quit being a cop when they met. She also enjoys how Joss encourages the best in both of them. River is thrilled that Violet sees anything in him as he thought of her as the woman of his dreams. He is still in awe at her raw strength and ability to survive anything Night City and life throws at her. River is deeply in love and is terrified of when V will die thus he showers her in affection when they do get together. He does respect her space and always encourages her to live and achieve whatever her mind is set on.
By the end of the game River finds it hard to come to terms with Violet's potential death and is devastated when V disappears for a while during the final mission. He is relieved when V finally does want to contact him outside the city outskirts. He does notice that Violet seems more at peace and that she is set on leaving NC to pursue new opportunities with the Aldecaldos as well as Panam her best friend.
Violet is at first hurt that River refuses to go along with her, growing frustrated that she is finally free of Johnny and that she wants to spend the last few years of her life free and with the man she loves. He opts to stay for the time being to help his sister and set up his PI business. V and River are now long distance for a while.
After 6 months of long distance, River grows frustrated by being alone in NC and his sister is finally in a position where she can support herself with Randy and the kids. River finally moves his PI business out of NC and joins V and the Aldecaldos. They are reunited and regularly return to NC to visit their family. A month later, River proposes to Violet and they get married much to the delight of the clan. They take each day as it comes with Panam helping V to search for a cure.
