Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972)
The Host (2006) dir. Bong Joon-ho
*Pterodactyl Noises*
Footage from The Host 2 (Gwoemul 2)! I hadn’t realized it was already in production! Sweetness those effects are goooooood. So lovely to see the monster in highdef.
I am a HUGE FAN of The Host. It is one of my favorite monster movies by the amazing director/writer Joon-ho Bong. If you can, watch it in Korean with english subtitles (the dub is terrible imo). Can’t recommend it enough.
I don’t know who wrote the sequel, but it doesn’t look like Joon-ho Bong is directing :c curious to see how much the tone will change.

Concept art for The Host / Gwoemul
The statue of the Gwoemul, the monster from The Host in Yeouido Park in Seoul, South Korea.
A statue of the monster from The Host in South Korea. At one point it was being displayed at Yeouido Park in Seoul; I’m not sure if that’s still the case.
