The lady let out a small giggle.
She then nearly beamed at the location suggestions. A place to read up on this region's past? AND a place to see things of the past, too? And all in one city, too. Goodness, they had it all!
...But, unfortunately neither of those would likely help her right now. "P-Perhaps at a l-later time. Do you...Know if t-there are any labs? P-Pokemon professors at b-best, but I will t-take what I c-can." She was told someone would be alerted to her arrival as soon as possible...Though it seemed like that either was not the case, or there wasn't anyone to inform.
"Ah, th-That's wonderful..!" Who knew technology could be so handy? Not her, apparently, as she never moved past the little Poketches that Sinnoh was known for. The little device had everything she needed! Though it didn't seem to like being outside of the region, unfortunately. So perhaps it was time for an upgrade.
With a nod she moved to follow the man. Her hands moving to rest behind her back, fingers fidgeting with one another. "Thank you. I-I appreciate you being s-so kind, s-sir."
If she had to stumble around this sprawling city alone, well, she'd never find her way!
It was clear his assumptions as to her interests was correct, simply from her reaction alone. Once they secured her a rotom phone, he would be sure to place pins on those locations for her.
Though at her question his head cocked slightly. Perhaps he should have thought of that as a suggestion as well. Many did tend to seek out the professor upon entering the city. Latimer then gave a nod.
"There is one quite nearby actually. I can direct you there once we get you situated. While the professor is currently away, Mable is currently holding his place." Considering how timid Milly appeared to be, perhaps he should give her a warning as to Mable's nature, then again, that may only deter her from going and she did seem set on it.
"Please, just Latimer is fine. No need for formalities." He chuckles softly as he led her down a nearby side street where the Phoenix Tech sign quickly came into view. "And no need to thank me. I am more than happy to help."
As they approached the shop's door, he stepped forward to open the door for her, ready to help bring her into a more modern technological age.
Milly let out a soft sigh of relief. Good, there was someone she could speak to. And the actual professor being out does explain why there wasn't someone waiting for her at the station. "Th-That would be w-wonderful, thank you." She needed to make progress, and soon at that.
"O-Oh..! Ah, s-sorry um, Latimer." Agh, she should've asked for his name before this, especially if he's taking her somewhere she's never been to before... Actually- Oh goodness she should've been a lot more careful about this. She's following a complete stranger, not asking any name of him first, and actively agreed- and actively following him- to some place. Should she introduce herself? Would that even help this situation? He's being very kind about it, so maybe it's alright? Was the mask meant for something more..?
Breathe, Milly. If all else, she brought her Pokemon. Micah would certainly get her out of any situation if it came down to a battle.
Coming back to reality once the shop was before her, she blinked twice. Flicking her gaze from the door, to Latimer, then back as she gave a small smile. "Th-Thank you, a-again.." She uttered, shuffling into the building with a grip on the strap of her bag.

"Th-That would be wonderful sir, thank you." Milly was relieved someone was so willing to help her out. Here she thought she'd have to stumble around this sprawling city until eventually finding her...Target? No, that didn't sound right.
Once the man asked about why, she fidgeted again. "Ah- Um...T-Technically, I am. I w-was sent here to investigate a-a Pokemon." She explained vaguely, as she wasn't exactly sure how much she was allowed to spill. If word got out, it would just cause said Pokemon more issues...
Then, as the versatility of this Rotom Phone was being explained, she seemed to light up from the little electrical ghost's appearance alone. "Ah, I see..! M-My goodness, that really is something. To think y-you could have so much in a l-little phone." She was delighted to see that Rotoms were helping people out in this way and, by the looks of it, this was a willing partnership.
She gave the offer of letting her own Rotom operate the device some thought, though after a moment, she shook her head. "I-I don't believe mine would e-enjoy not helping out on the field. Or, knowing m-my luck, they would m-mess with the phone ins-stead.." She said, stifling a giggle. "B-Besides, I think they would l-like a friend."
"Of course. It would be a shame if your impression of Lumiose wasn't a good one." Even though it couldn't be seen beneath the mask, Latimer knew his smile tended to heard in his voice.
"I see, well after we get you situated, perhaps I could recommend the library or the museum as a starting point?" Hearing her speak of seeking a particular pokemon caught his attention. Speaking from personal experience, generally, that sort of thing didn't exactly lead to the best outcomes . . . perhaps he would have to keep an eye on this one.
Noticing her clear interest in his display, Latimer grinned under the mask. He hadn't figured it would be a difficult sell, although he was always thrilled to see things go his way. While the phone continued to hover beside him, Latimer nodded.
"Quite the useful little tool. And they are able to easily connect with one another to communicate. Not to mention, we are always working to improve them." After returning his phone to one of his pockets, he motioned for her to follow him.
"That is perfectly alright, and particularly why you are not required to supply your own. If that is settled, then I can lead you to the shop. And as promised, I will see what I can do about getting you that discount as well. There are a plethora of cases you can purchase for them as well should you so choose."
The lady let out a small giggle.

If she had to stumble around this sprawling city alone, well, she'd never find her way!
The lady fidgeted, trying to take in the info the kind stranger was giving her. "A-Ah um...N-No, I don't have a-anywhere to stay yet. This was a s-sort of...Spontaneous task." The lack of knowledge, however, was her fault. She didn't look into where she was going, only knowing where she'd fly to.
A hand moved, messing with the straps of a bag that hung from her shoulder. Papers, books, and pokeballs. Double and triple checked before she had departed.
Once he spoke again, she looked...Confused. "I ah..I a-appreciate the offer, sir. B-But um...What is a Rotom phone?" After a moment of thought when she asked, a small twinkle lit up in her eyes. "..Did they discover a n-new form Rotom could take? I h-have a Rotom, myself."
"Well, then once we get you sorted then I can certainly point you in the correct direction to remedy that." Latimer knew well enough hos often the city received unprepared tourists. "Fortunately for you, Lumiose plays host to countless visitors, so finding you a place to stay should not be difficult at all. Though you mentioned a spontaneous task, are you here for business then?"
Once more Latimer was grateful his expression was masked. He would definitely need to speak with his team about hastening Phoenix Tech's efforts to open up shops in - . . . Sinnoh? Was that where her accent was from? While efforts were already in the works to expand their reach far past what it already was, it seemed they were moving far too slowly if she hadn't even heard of a Rotom Phone.
"A Rotom Phone is a necessity for anyone." With a flourish of his hand, his own phone revealed itself, a shiny model of course with the Phoenix Tech logo emblazoning it's back, floating out from his pocket with arms extended.
"It contains apps for virtually anything you could require: Maps, Pokedex, Inventory, calls, and even can help access your stored pokemon. On top of all of that, should you find yourself falling from a high place, " Much more common than one would expect now that many young trainers decided to use rooftop travel . . . "It will catch you before you hit the ground. Quite a useful tool, and of course contains Holo-Tech."
Whilst the masked man explained the functionality, his Rotom Phone drifted through the air, cycling through the apps as he mentioned them.
"Though I should mention that in this form, Rotom isn't actually able to battle, so I am not sure I would call it a new form, simply a Rotom is able to inhabit the shell. Each phone comes with a Rotom already within it, so it isn't needed to have your own, but if you'd prefer, a personal Rotom could be swapped out."
"Th-That would be wonderful sir, thank you." Milly was relieved someone was so willing to help her out. Here she thought she'd have to stumble around this sprawling city until eventually finding her...Target? No, that didn't sound right.

With just one brick and mortar shop left to check in with on the latest shipment of rotom phones, Latimer was already allowing his mind drift to the possibilities of what to do with the rest of his day. He couldn't wait to ditch the suffocating suit he wore, and the distinct personality that came with it.
Perhaps he'd work some more on upgrading his mask, after all, if he could perfect the translation technology, they could begin incorporating it into the next rotom phone models.
It wasn't until he noticed the tragically lost looking tourist that Latimer was pulled out of his contemplation. While he could easily have kept walking like many others were already doing, the C.E.O. found himself stopping not far from her and offering his assistance.
That damned mask really could be a pain at times.
A soft chuckle escaped him. It wasn't unusual for even the denizens of Lumiose to find themselves lost in the immense city, so it was no surprised the tourist found themself overwhelmed.
"Hm. Well, have you secured yourself a place to stay for the duration of your stay? There are several available options. I would suggest Hotel Richissime myself. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants if you are looking for something to eat, and many find the museum a necessary stop."
A pause as he took notice of the archaic device she was attempting to navigate with. It was a good thing his face was concealed so she couldn't see the grimace on his face.
". . . Though might I suggest first stopping to procure a rotom phone? I assure you it would help immensely to aid your travel around the city. I was actually headed that way myself and perhaps I could even sweet talk the workers to give you a discount." A joke, because of course he could give a discount on one of his own items of course.

"You look lost, need some help?"
The girl stood by a red-painted cafe, fumbling with a device on her wrist. She was wholly unprepared for this venture to another region, especially alone. But when you're asked to venture out to investigate a place with far different legends than your own, who was she to say no?
But now here she was, trying to get a map to pull up on her Poketch. It was far too bright and too loud out here, and the struggle was beginning to get to her. So when a voice appeared, directed at her, she jumped with a quiet yelp. Arms pulled close to her chest, she turned to the stranger. "Ah- Um- S-Sorry..!" She brushed off her dress as if it were dusty, then let her arms relax. "I...I am l-lost. Though um...I'm n-not too s-sure where I'm supposed t-to go, either."

ACQUAINTANCES
❛ I swear I’ve seen you before, probably in a dream, or a mugshot. ❜
❛ Is this the part where we shake hands or just nod awkwardly? ❜
❛ You’re not as scary as people said. Yet. ❜
❛ We’ve met before, right? ❜
❛ I will forget your name in five minutes but I will never forget your aura. ❜
❛ Sorry, I don’t think I caught your name last time. ❜
❛ You seem familiar. Do I know you from somewhere? ❜
❛ Sorry, I’m terrible with names. I’ll probably call you “Hey you” forever. ❜
❛ So are we strangers, or is this the part where we overshare? ❜
❛ If we end up on a group project together, I’m not doing the PowerPoint. ❜
❛ So… what do you do? ❜
❛ I’ve heard about you, but this is our first time talking. ❜
❛ I don’t know much about you, honestly. ❜
❛ Wow, you talk. I thought you were just a background extra. ❜
❛ How do you already look like you’re over this conversation? ❜
❛ Don’t take this the wrong way, but I can’t tell if we’d get along or kill each other. ❜
❛ It’s weird finally putting a face to the name. ❜
❛ If you had to pick one Pokémon that describes your vibe, which one is it? ❜
❛ Do you come here often? ❜
❛ Oh cool, another NPC come to give me a side quest. ❜
❛ You look like you have main character energy but, like, season one when everything’s still a mess. ❜
❛ Small world, huh? ❜
❛ Sorry if I seem awkward, I’m not great with strangers. ❜
❛ You look like you know what you’re doing. ❜
❛ Wait, is this the start of a rom-com or a crime documentary? ❜
❛ You seem like someone who knows where the snacks are. ❜
❛ I have no idea who you are but I respect your vibe. ❜
❛ Are you new around here? ❜
❛ It’s nice to finally meet in person. ❜
❛ We don’t really know each other yet, but… I think we could get along. ❜
❛ Well, that was an interesting first impression. ❜
❛ Do you mind if I sit here? ❜
❛ I feel like I should know more about you than I do. ❜
❛ So… do we pretend we don’t know each other, or do we pretend we do? ❜
❛ Wait, are you the person I thought was a coat rack last week? ❜
❛ Oh, you’re taller than I imagined in my head. ❜
❛ You don’t look like a serial killer. That’s a good start. ❜

❛ You always make the day a little better. ❜
❛ That was fun, we should do it again sometime. ❜
❛ Want to grab something to eat? My treat. ❜
❛ You’re so easy to talk to. ❜
❛ Honestly, I didn’t expect us to get along this well. ❜
❛ Why do we always end up in weird situations together? ❜
❛ If we had a sitcom, it’d be canceled after one episode. ❜
❛ I don’t know if we’re friends or just two people who roast each other a lot. ❜
❛ You make me laugh so much it’s suspicious. ❜
❛ I can’t believe we just spent three hours talking about nothing. ❜

❛ You’re a good friend. ❜
❛ Thanks for always being there. ❜
❛ I don’t laugh like this with anyone else. ❜
❛ I feel like I can be myself with you. ❜
❛ You’re stuck with me now. ❜
❛ You know I only text you because I’m bored, right? ❜
