Starting Your Own Devotional Journal
Starting a devotional journal can be a great way to work on your relationship with Jesus. It’s fun, fulfilling, and can help you remember important passages in the Bible. It’s a way to devote your time and effort to Him. It doesn’t matter if you use a cheap notebook, but if you can afford to, you can buy a nice journal. You can even work on your computer, print out the pages, and put them in a binder.
Here’s a list of things you can include in your journal:
Prayer. Your journal is a place to pour your heart out to God.
If you’re creative, you can even write poetic prayers, similar to “Hail Mary.” You don’t have to be Catholic to write beautiful prayers.
Devotions. Write down a particular verse or passage and do a study on it.
Make it your glossary. The fruits of the spirit, spiritual gifts, holidays, etc. Write it down.
Do character studies - from King David to Lucifer. These are people you want to know.
Write out your favorite passages and verses.
The issues. From homosexuality to drinking, it’s good to have a biblical perspective. Write down the verses concerning the topic and do a study.
Print out religious artwork that inspires you and glue it into your journal.
Remember: it’s your journal. Decorate it and make it your own!
