Not to say no one helped me, but when I was a young broke single mom my parents barely ever asked me what I needed, rarely even slipped me a twenty. My daughter is grown and I can’t imagine treating her that way whatever her circumstances. If she had a baby I would do everything I could to make things easier for her.
