I feel embarrassed when I mention having ADHD and autism because I'm also queer and I feel like there's this whole idea that queer people are always faking their illnesses & a lot of my behaviors could be seen as "stereotypical" (since they're literally just symptoms & people are quick to refer to symptoms as "stereotypes" but I digress) but anyway, what I'm trying to say is that every few months I go down a rabbithole after watching a video essay about some niche internet figure named u/BunkusRat (real name Kevin "Star Shadow" Davison or something) who was notorious on reddit/4chan for buying ad space in children's magazines and using it to distribute kawaii edits of nuclear reactor explosion footage or whatever the fuck. And then I start learning about nuclear reactor explosions. And then I get even more curious and I start reading about workplace/factory incidents in general. And then I get obsessed with OSHA. And my life revolves around OSHA horror stories for the next few days/weeks. And then the love of my life, my darling boyfriend who can do no wrong, has to put up with the fact that I'm obsessed with this New Thing and I can & will pause mid-thrust to tell him about the death of some guy named Frank Gutierrez who flipped the wrong lever at 6:53 AM at the Granton Pork distribution plant in Cincinnati on September 18, 2007. And this just happens and it's amazing and it's horrible and there's nothing we can do about it.
