     sebastian sighs as the booth seat opposite him is suddenly occupied. he’s currently trying to work on his next hit to get some cash flow. he doesn’t have time for a conversation. “unless you’ve brought me more coffee or a pack of cigarettes, fuck off.”

Mila rolled her eyes as she sat across from the man. It wasn’t unusual for the performer to run into old flames, and Sebastian was no exception. “Always as cranky as ever, Bash.” The brunette commented, taking a long sip of her own drink. “Who peed in your cereal this morning?” 

Ollie let out a high pitched laugh, shaking their head at her words. “Oh yeah, there’s no way! When I drink that much I can literally go before top of show, then step onstage and like already have to go again! It’s a struggle! But, stayin hydrated is important! So it’s a good thing if you gotta go potty during the show, that means you’re hydrated! Well, it’s a good thing as long as you get a break!” They gave a sympathetic look to Mila and laughed again. “I mean yeah, you will be able to hold your pee for a long time! Like a camel! They can hold it for like 8 hours!” 

They clapped their hands together, just as excited at the thought of Mila becoming a Disney princess for the stage as she was. “Yes! That would be everything! You would get to wear a gold gown and probably get a pee break! What luxuries of royalty!” They snorted, smiling innocently at the other. Ollie touched their hand to their heart at Mila’s compliment and smiled brightly. “Thanks so much, sweets! I appreciate that! I’m so happy I can bring something new to Seymour! And shows like SIX are really great with the diversity! You must be proud to be part of a cast like that! I know I am, like with how much representation is in my cast! It’s really cool, cause there’s not really in past casts of our show so, woo!”

“Honestly, it’s a struggle, but it could always be worse! It could be a longer show.” Mila laughed, taking a long sip of her drink. “But the show is also so fast-paced and high-energy that by the time my brain registers that I have to pee, the show is pretty much over and I can just hold it. I think it’s something I’d be able to proudly display on my resume. Can hold pee for an entire eighty minute show. It’ll put me right at the top of the pile.”

To say Mila was obsessed with her career would be an understatement. Broadway was her life. “I think I would honestly die if I were able to play Belle. I’d walk out of the audition crying or something. Because how many people can say they’ve been able to play two of their dream roles, you know? Aside from Belle and Rizzo, I think I’d want to re-do Legally Blonde and go for Elle and then I’ll have done my three favorite shows.” A warm smile crossed her features at the other’s comment. “I mean, I’ve always felt that Broadway was pretty good at being diverse. But I think shows like SIX are really good because they really promote roles where different body types and ethnicity are accentuated.”

Alex grinned in response. “Okay, so here’s the hot take: is there a perfect spot? Does it depend on the play? I saw The Great Comet about a thousand times, it’s one of my favorite musicals, and every time it was a different seat and every time, it was incredible. But that might be just me really getting into the shows and not really minding where I am” he chuckled. “Hmm, trust me. You definitely don’t want to get on her bad side. She’s, for the most part, a ray of light though, I don’t think you would.”

The blond raised his arms in a surrounding manner, shaking his head “Hey, you’ve earned it. But I do apologize, I’m just a big fan. I do hope they bring it back someday if it made you so happy. Can I ask what’s your dream role? That’s a question that always crosses my mind when I meet someone who likes Broadway, more so meeting a real actress with the range you have” he questioned. He had a list of his own, not like anyone would ever get to hear them, whatsoever. That was for himself and his shower. At the offer, he breathed out and offered the other a grateful smile in return, making a mental note to perhaps purchase tickets for another night. “Alright, just because you insist. Thank you very much, Mila. I truly appreciate it. It’ll be great to see you perform again, it’s been so long and hey, now I’ll be able to say Mila Morgan herself invited me. Truly, an honor” he disclosed. “Neither have I, I don’t think, and I don’t plan on doing so tonight either. I kind of wonder what it is like, being a thousand percent sober in one. What kind of newly-weds let their guests not have alcohol? Oh… actually, I wouldn’t mind the photographer. Hey, it might make Cece and Harry laugh in the future, to see their best man on the floor. I kind of wanna do it just to see how they’ll react.”

“Well,” the performer began, a laugh escaping her lips. “It depends on the theater. Personally, I think front row is overrated. You’re right behind the pit, which I don’t enjoy. I think being about 10-12 rows back is perfect. You’re pretty much eye-level with the performers, instead of having to look up or look down.” Mila laughed. “Well, then I’ll do my best to not piss her off. She seems like a genuinely good person, though, so there’d be no real way for me to get on her bad side, unless I completely butcher a role she absolutely loves in a show.”

A prideful smile graced the performer’s features. “Well, thank you. I’m hoping I’ve got at least ten to twenty more good years before I do a final bow. I’d love to do Grease as my final performance, honestly. Although, my dream role would have to be Belle. My father brought me to see Beauty and the Beast on the west end when I was eleven and it was then that I realized I wanted to be a performer.” Mila sighed, raking her fingers through her hair. “And it feels so close. My manager told me they’re bringing Beauty and the Beast back for the 25th anniversary, and auditions line up with the ending of SIX in July, which feels like it’s pretty much destiny for me to audition.” The performer paused. “Of course! And this show is so different than everything else on Broadway right now, so I think it’ll be a good show to see, especially since it’s only a 3 month show.” A pause, then a laugh. “Well, it would be quite the story to tell years from now. And I’m sure it would be a great photograph to have for the rest of time.”

“Y’know, for someone who’s obsessed with their career, you sure do love to complain about it a lot, don’t you?” Nate pointed out, his words were teasing, but his expression remained blank as he grabbed his coffee and sipped it. “I might not look it, but I’m excited to see the show.”

“You go up and do what I do, and then tell me you wouldn’t complain. Eighty minutes with no chance to go off-stage to pee or take a drink of water is not fucking easy.” Mila snapped before sticking her tongue out. If it had been anybody but her little brother telling her she was complaining, they would have received a complimentary coffee facial. “I may complain, but it’s an amazing show. I’ll make sure to set aside a ticket for you now that I know you plan on sticking around.”

“You know sitting there all alone just makes you look a killjoy.” Cash said, approaching the female with a smug smirk. Everyone seemed to be having fun around them, except for the woman, and what was he gonna do if not being an enabler of good fun. “Have a drink with me and I promise you the best night of your life.”

Mila rarely attended parties. Her schedule consisted of shows every evening, although the majority of her shows lasted well over the eighty minutes her current show ran. And LUX was always a party. Sipping away at a Manhattan, the brunette glanced up at the sound of a voice, a small laugh escaping her lips. “Maybe I am a killjoy, Cash.” She commented, angling her body towards his slightly. She held up her drink, grinning. “I have a drink. Although, I am curious how you’re supposed to promise the best night of my life without any details.”

“I’m not a normal person, Mila, when will you learn that?” That’s true, he’s never been what anyone would call normal, but still there’s a smirk playing on his lips. Though, he was entirely serious, he did know he looked good. “Who said anything about a significant other? Just find a fuck buddy,” he comments with a dismissive wave of his hand before adding, “and cats are low maintenance, Cain and Abel are pretty self sufficient,” the cats are assholes, that’s for sure and whenever he’s home they’re in his lap or wherever he is, but when he’s not? They take care of themselves. “I’m happy to pull you away from creepy old men, break their hands if they touch you too, if you’d like,” he says, eyebrow raised and he tries to hide whatever caring tone he takes on behind a more business approach. “It’s up there for sure, the food was good and the alcohol is top shelf which yes, certainly helps,” he agrees and then nudges her shoulder with his own. “You see yourself doing this one day? Should i prepare a speech?”

“You’re right, you’re far from normal.” Mila laughed warmly, raising her glass to her lips once again. She was several drinks in by this point of the evening, allowing herself to enjoy the reception unfolding before her. Wrinkling her nose, the brunette shook her head. “Nope, can’t do that. Tried it in college. Some people can do sex and no feelings, and call me a hopeless romantic, but I can’t do that.” The performer sighed, letting her head fall back slightly before turning her attention back to her brother. “I’m allergic to cats, remember? I have to pop a Benadryl every time I wanna come see the babies, since I don’t want them to grow up thinking I’m this puffy eyed, red faced troll.” Another laugh; if there were one word to best describe Elias Morgan, it would be loyal. Despite their less than close relationship growing up, she was always glad to hear that she had the protection of her older brother should she need it. “Ah, I think hand breaking isn’t necessary. But you know, feel free to step in and drag me away from creepy old men.” Mila paused; was a wedding in her future? Surely, she’d need to find somebody who was willing to put up with her extremely busy lifestyle. “I don’t know. Guys are normally pretty turned off by my commitment to my career, so we’ll see. What about you? You plan to finally seal the deal with Casey? You’ve already got the babies, and she basically lives with you. Why not give her the same last name as you and the babies?”
