> Israel only exists since 1958 and WW2 ended in 1945. It’s impossible for Third Reich to have ever invaded Israel. Or even met in general.
> Reasons for the rise of the Third Reich; The Treaty of Versailles, Economic Crisis & the errors in the Weimar constitution (it was ridiculously easy to get rid of the democratic fundamental rights). Antisemitism existed before WW1 too, yes, but it was NOT the main reason for the rise of the Third Reich.
> Antisemitism in Weimar got so heated up by the myth that German Jews were responsible for the loss of WW1. German propaganda portrayed them as “backstabbers”. This was such a useful propaganda tool because Weimar suffered heavily under the loss of WW1. ( The Treaty of Versailles & Economic Crisis). This myth is called the “Dolchstoßlegende”, or simply “Stab-in-the-back myth” in English. I think we all know the aftermath of this myth…
> The most known historical reason behind the controversial TR x USSR ship is the Molotov-Ribbentop Pact. The ship does NOT ‘make no sense at all’, it just depends on how you want to interpret historical events and then put on your Countyhumans. This ofc doesn’t mean you have to ship it, but telling shippers it makes 'no sense’.. just makes no sense.
> Russia is NOT communist anymore. Socialism in Russia died with the fall of the USSR.
> The people of the USSR in total voted AGAINST the dissolution of the USSR. The dissolution was against the people’s vote. There are also a lot of people of the older generation (so those who actually lived in the USSR) who will tell you, that they quite liked it. When portraying Russia or USSR, one should consider this fact.
> The Holodomor NEVER has proven to be an intentional famine against Soviet Ukraine. It happened, but if it was intentional or an accident is actually a very controversial and split opinion since the famine was not just in Soviet Ukraine. So when one makes content to the Holodomor one needs to consider this as well. You can’t just say it was intentional like it’s a fact. If you believe it was intentional or not can only be considered an opinion as there is not enough proof for either side.
> The cold war should have taught us that we can’t just blindly believe everything our government’s media tells us. Both the USA and USSR used a lot of false information as propaganda against their own people. And so creating wars that could have been avoided. It should NOT teach us that communism and the entire east is evil. Or that capitalism and the entire west is evil. As a historian, one should refrain from portraying a country as the ultimate evil EVEN if it goes against your political views. Portraying a country as evil is insulting to history. Ofc this doesn’t mean you can’t be critical of the country’s action though. You should still be critical.
> Third Reich’s strategy was to dehumanize and demonize its enemies. This made the German population more willing to actually do horrible acts. So.. never be like Third Reich.
> Not all Wehrmacht soldiers were automatically Nazis! The Third Reich used a lot of propaganda against their own people, and males were forced to go to the Wehrmacht. It was extremely hard to go against those orders, almost always resulting in death.
> In the Third Reich it NEVER was openly talked about the murder of Jews. Those acts were ALWAYS hidden behind played-down propaganda language. (Example: "cleansing” instead of “mass murder”, or “natural selective sorting-out”. Phrases on concentration camps like; “work makes free” etc.)
