Ok, so yesterday’s post I showed the mannequin test, and today is one of the shots! 😄👍 This hypercolor portrait series was shot with a combination of colored gels and a gobo to block light and create unique artistic lighting patterns/shadows on the subject. This is NOT photoshop and all shadows/patterns are done in-camera. Thanks to Rae Agency (@RaeAgency) model Izzy (@izabella.goh) for her work on this series that was taken at my studio in Berkeley. . . Shot these with my Nikon Z6ii (@nikonusa) and four Digibees from Paul C. Buff (@paulcbuffinc) and my wireless Raven trigger (@fusiontlc). The Raven trigger was super helpful being able to control each individual light from the device as power needed to be manually increased/decreased often with each color or pattern change. The colored gels were used with the Digibee with my hack I posted on YouTube, and all in front of the Evergreen seamless paper backdrop from Savage Universal. Enjoy! . . No, this isn’t A.I.! 🤣 These are all shot in-camera as I was testing out new hypercolor lighting techniques in my studio yesterday with my mannequin for an upcoming photoshoot. All shadow patterns you see are not photoshopped but made with light/shadows. Hey all! It’s been ages since I’ve posted to Instagram, but that’s not because of lack of shooting. I’ve been shooting like crazy, but just lost interest a bit posting to Instagram. We’re officially in Autumn/fall, so here’s one of Amber in a summer style field of grass with that beautiful golden light. Here’s a shot taken of Jerusha from inside my studio using the studio window (natural light) as the only light source. I think to think of these kind of shots as the acoustic version of a favorite song. Not overly edited, all-natural, and true photography. This was taken in front of a Verona muslin backdrop from @savageuniversal. Shot with my Nikon Z6ii from (@nikonusa) their their stunning Z-mount 70-200mm lens. This combo is unreal. Here’s one from my recent shoot with my client Olivia. She booked a fitness session which yielded some fantastic fitness shots, but we also had to shoot a few headshots as well with DIY ringlight. Taken last Thursday in the east bay hills. Here’s another hypercolor series I shot with the new LINK strobes and colored gel domes from from Paul C. Buff (@paulcbuffinc). This was a music profile shot for verified Spotify artist VOGNR (@vognr). Check out his music on Spotify, which is UK Techno/Trance/Progressive House, and of course, see this shot as his new profile image. . For this series I went with a deep yellow background color, mixed with a teal key light and pink kicker gels. My first hypercolor series I shot with the new LINK strobes and colored gel domes from from Paul C. Buff (@paulcbuffinc). For this series I went with a primary color combo of blue & red for the colored gels. Keylight is a LINK with a blue colored dome applied, and the red kicker lights are one additional LINK strobe and a DigiBee with the new red colored gel domes applied Worked great!
