Yes, there is simultanous play back (via head set) possible. I use it to adjust recording volume and settings.

See my equipemnt here. I connected a lavallier mic (like interviewers on TV use) to a simple Rappaport steth. Tha mic is connected to a Tascam DR-05, a professional handheld audio recorder.

What is the Tascam good for? Well, in the beginning I tried to feed the audio directly into a digi cam or capture it on my laptop. This however didn’t work. Heart sounds are very low pitched (40-150Hz) and extremely powerful. Both, the digicam’s an Laptop’s audio in weren’t able to process it properly.

Equipement works great for me. I learned hat this is similar to what XXHearts.com, Opander.com and fetishgoddeses.com ended up with :-)
