keep on keeping on

  Avenly was quite terrified about how Mike would react, she figured that he would act like really any other teenage guy would to finding out their girlfriend was pregnant, he would leave. She wasn’t able to really respond to him, she had to focus on the words in order to get them out. After she had admitted her pregnancy she was able to breathe more, but a few tears still slipped out. She looked up at him and nodded, “Yeah, and it has to be yours” she mumbled, knowing that unless she was carrying the nest messiah, the only person the baby could be was Mike’s. She leaned against him as he puled her close, letting out a bit of built up emotion. “Is it though, Mike? Is it really okay? Are you mad? What am I going to do?” 

As soon as Ave had admitted that she was pregnant, all of his thoughts about himself had gone out of his head. It didn't matter what his problems were anymore, they weren't important. Ave was, and now a baby, too. That had to be what he thought about, that was the only thing in the front of his mind. He nodded a little after she spoke, but he knew the baby had to be his, there wouldn't be anyone else. Mike held her closer against him, rubbing her back gently. "Ave, babe, it will be okay. I promise." He leaned away just a little to look down at her and shook his head, "No, I'm not mad, not at all. We'll figure it out, Avenly, we'll figure out what to do."

  "I don’t know if anything is really wrong Mike.. I mean…" she trailed off, biting her lip. When he spoke she looked up and nodded a bit. She looked back down again and chewed on her lip a minute before she took a breath and started to speak.. "Mike.. I’m.." she closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath, her eyes stinging with tears, she opened her eyes and looked at him as a couple tears and the last few words let her, "I’m pregnant"

Mike was frowning at the girl in front of him, wondering what on earth the news could be. It couldn't be bad, could it? He knew he couldn't handle it if it was, he needed Ave now more than ever, and having no idea what was going on was scaring him and hurting him at the same time. He stood quietly, listening as she stumbled over the words to begin with, frowning again. "Ave?" He said quietly, stepping a little closer to her. When the words finally spilled out of her mouth, he found himself slightly shocked, but not entirely upset. "What?... Really?" His voice was quiet, and he shook his head and stepped towards her, pulling her into his arms, "Babe, hey, don't cry. It's okay."

  I’m meaning I may be like this for awhile.. 

Ave, please, what's wrong?

  How am I confusing you?

I just don't know what you mean by more permanent than seasickness? You're worrying me, Avenly.

  Yeah, more permanent, like for awhile you know. 

You're confusing me, baby.

  Uhm… not really.. 

More permanent? What? Are you okay? Ave?

  That’s okay Mike, you should tell me things like that.. I threw up a lot this morning too, I guess we’re in the same boat, literally and otherwise…

Yeah.. I guess.
