Okay, so the trailers are out for the finale and I can already see the absolute disarray the fandom’s falling into over Alya and Mari again. So let me say this as someone who likes both characters:
Alya, has every right to be upset with Marinette. She has every right to be disappointed and hurt, and has every right to want to step back from their friendship if she truly decides to do so. When you’re upset with someone deciding to step away and get some much needed space is healthy. It’s a way to help not only yourself work through your feelings but also ensure that you and the person you’re upset with don’t lash out at each other and hurt them even more.
But besides that there’s also the factor of why she’s upset, besides the fact Mari's keeping such a huge lie up. Let us not only add onto the fact this is a massive lie and one that Alya takes with personal hurt and frustration thanks to us learning how much it hurt her when her parents kept the secret about Nora from her, but the factor that Marinette pushed Alya to become part of the lie in Lady Chaos. She begged her to trick Adrien, the very person she’s keeping the lie up for all together. Alya feels even more betrayed now than before, of course she’s going to be upset.
And no Alya is not being a bad friend by wanting to get some space from Mari after this. Alya throughout this whole season has been an amazing friend to Marinette. This isn’t like the Lila situation where every character got hit with the dumb-dumb stick. Every action and reaction she had make sense for her character and also the situation she’s in.
As for Mari, yes she has every right to feel hurt and heartbroken. However let us not forget that by this point the reason she is keeping up the lie isn’t for Adrien anymore. She doesn't want to risk him breaking up with her, she doesn't want to lose him. What had started off as a lie out of love has become a lie to not lose the boy she loves. It's become selfish. It isn’t fair to Adrien, nor to Marinette to keep them in a relationship for that reason. And it certainly isn’t fair that she pushed her friend to become part of the lie even when she knew how much lies had affected Alya.
The secret is something too big to keep now. It was going to come out at some point, and unfortunately Mari chose to wait too long and it will end up giving her the worst reactions.
In the end the ep hasn't come out yet, but let's not go into a whole other Alya hate train when her reactions from what we see here if it is about the lie are valid and are a healthy way to show how to work through being hurt so deeply.
She was lonely as shown by how in episode 5 she revealed that no one watched her vlogs.
This loneliness and feeling burnt out caused her to go to haunted places to get some sort of thrill despite hating horror.
Abigail seems to be doing better now as indicated by how it’s revealed she has friends that join her vlogs while Pomni has found a community in the circus 🥹
From this he knows that iroh is a ex military personal and zuko is his nephew and apprentice. Adding the latter gained information about iroh being a firebender makes it pretty clear where iroh and zuko once fought.
Jet is ridiculed in his persuit to hold these warcriminals accountable so its pretty messy, but the way the show antagonizes everyone who does so puts iroh and zuko's redemption into a funny spot.
Its just the way we know that iroh had a hand in burning Jet's village with his parents in it is so messed up, like confronting the ppl who traumatized you is only possible for zuzu and his love interest.

"Mikasa was obsessed with Eren" vs actual obsession:
To state the obvious: Mikasa was able to break from her previous glowing conception of Eren and think for herself, gaining a more complete picture of Eren as a person. If she was the shallow character people claim her to be, Mikasa would not have opposed the Yeagarists - she would've fallen in line, becoming an unthinking supporter of their fascist, genocidal reign. Instead, Mikasa killed Eren, not allowing her love to keep her bound, ending the titan curse.
Which is a stark contrast to Louise and Floch. They fell for the facade Eren presented them, unquestioning. Eren didn't give a shit about the "Eldian Empire." He used the Yeagarists for his own aim - an unoccupied outside world - ambivalent to their deaths. Eren preyed on their fear of annihilation, allowed their terror to fester and blossom into dehumanization, ultra-nationalism, and imperialist aims, all for him to use them as a tool to start the Rumbling, so he could "see that sight." Louise and Floch idolized Eren, whipped up into a fervor, unconscious to his true goal.
Eren himself recognized the humanity of the people living beyond the walls. He grew to understand differing perspectives, notably Reiner's. He cried to Ramzi, apologizing for what he knew he would do. Yet, he still did it. Empty without the "freedom" he sought, the look in Armin's eyes, an internal freedom he mistook as an external goal. Telling himself and others he was doing it for Eldia (despite trampling Eldians outside the walls), for his friends (despite not knowing if they'd live), anything to distract himself from his own selfish desire.
I do find Floch and Louise fascinating characters as a way to break down idolatry and how people can become radicalized into fascism. I actually find Floch quite entertaining, and I like that we get to see how he got to that place. And I like seeing how other characters (Mikasa, Jean, and Onyankopon) react to his takeover and his offer to join the Yeagarists. Louise and Floch almost serve to reflect alternative paths for Mikasa and Jean respectively, who they could've been if they gave into their worst traits - single-minded devotion for Mikasa, selfishness for Jean. Fascinating stuff all around
Stuff ive found and written for my fanfic references but its also very fascinating how you can even analysis the way Jet speaks down to his character.
- He talks like a leader:
- Precise to the point, but spoken casually often times.
- Emphasis on certain word.
- Barely an unnecessary words.
- When persuading, calls them by name often.- Also when persuading, sometime ask questions that often expects only one answer. (Ex: "Doesn't seem fair, does it?")
- Praises other easily.
- Speaks less precise when overtaken with emotions.
- When angry, repeats variation of sentences to emphasize.
- More lax at Book 2, present uses of "So", "Hey", " You know?" And "I think", Which was uncommon before.
- Explains his intention or emphasize why a certain thing matters. Ex: (" You know, as soon as I saw your scar, I knew exactly who you were. You're an outcast, like me. And us outcasts have to stick together. We have to watch each other's backs. Because no one else will.")
- Talks to himself alone. (Ex: [Whispering to himself.] They're not there. [Opens his fist to show some emerald colored rocks.] You'll have to firebend, old man. [He sees Iroh going inside, and narrows his eyes.] Where're you going?)
- Post Brainwashing:
- Lack of persuasiveness and calm B1 and Early B2 has.
- Shouts a lot trying to make a point.
- First time seen stammering,
- Outwardly shows lack of certainty (Common use of "I think"
- Shows outward surprise of connecting a dot. "That's it!" And "Like a Lake!" (Pre-BW Jet thinks quietly.)
- After reversing the Brainwash, and during his desmise, back at talking with the precision and persuasion. (Convincing he'll be alright.)
He makes his point clearly with emphasizes and reasoning behind it. But kept his voice casual enough to sound approachable, comforting, not threatening.
(Just like what a leader of many traumatized children can be expected.)

reminded of timeskip jeankasa sparring and thinking of middle-aged jeankasa being that couple that wakes up before sunrise to go jogging around the block
unlike during their scouts days when mikasa would easily win anything sporty against jean, she’s now clumsy without that ackerman strength and jean smiles knowing he could win but slows down for her sake and of course she notices and calls him out for it and tells him not to go easy on her
they proceed to argue out of breath while running still

The fact that Lady Chaos focused more on Marinette than Adrien even though the premise of the episode was Adrien making a documentary about his dad and wanting to learn more about him 🙄
I like Marinette but she's overshadowing Adrien's relationship with Gabriel

Hiiiiii to the ml salt community :)))) im genuinely curious about this - why do you guys think Marinette’s writing in season 6 is bad? Coming from someone who has found Marinette really annoying and feels disgusted by how she’s been gaslighting Adrien, it seems like it’s an intentional part of her arc with the show gearing up to call her out for it and make her face consequences.
No hate to the ml salt community btw, I’m a salter too, im just curious :)))
