so everyone knows how sacrificial ash can get (on a physical level), but is interesting how dawn is the same way (but more on a emotional level)
She will put her own wishes to the side for the sake of others as seen in:
The very first episode of DP, she is totally ok with not getting in town in time for her first contest just to help Pikachu and Ash meet. She made a big deal about the start of her journey and even then she was willing to put it all aside for Pikachu and a guy she never met.
How she releases Pachirisu despite being very attached to it because and i quote "they're too much for her, and specially her friends, to handle". She loved the squirrel and yet, she did release it, was swallowing in her own sadness and only after Brock and Ash telling her to do it that she goes after it again.
She lets Ambipom go after asking Ash about what to do and once again puts all her feelings on the matter to the side for the happiness of her pokemon.
When the DP gang parts ways is because Dawn gives Buneary's modeling career a chance. Not anything related to her actual goals, but instead something Buneary (and mostly just Buneary) showed interest in doing.
And speaking of pushing her own feelings to the side, Dawn has the continuous habit of bottling up shit or straight up ignoring her problems till they come bite her in the ass:
How she admits to Maylene that she fears her contests are in the way of Ash's own dream (without ever telling him that).
How everytime after a lost or a creative block, she instead chooses to sit down and mull over it by herself than talk to any of her friends.
The whole time during Wallace Cup she is there quietly freaking out about losing and its only when her stress show in the form of hugging Piplup too tight that anyone notices her inner turmoil.
The way she doesn't say a thing about the bet Kenny makes when he asks her to travel with him. How she just stands there while things escalate and how she is only able to reject him via letter and not face to face.
During the whole thing with Piloswine/Mamoswine's disobedience arc, instead of tackling the issue right on, Dawn kept "bandaiding" the situation by using food to get him to listen to her, without really trying to yknow. just talk to her pokemon.
How when Lyra starts her "matchmaking mission", Dawn doesn't really tell her to stop (despite the fact she is clearly uncomfortable). She literally just lets Lyra go and try to set her up with Kouhey until Lyra changes her mind by her own accord.
Is just.. this girl is such an avoidant mess and I love her.
