Even in some interviews w/ Q Hayashida she keeps a lot of answers vague, like when an interviewer questioned her if Haze and Haru had sex in that one suggestive scene of them sleeping naked together, and Q answered like "yeah it does look like they did it huh" and just left it at that. (I found the interview!! It’s in the Dorohedoro Bon special ^^)

Another example of something that is up to interpretation is the Blue Nights, I've seen a lot of people interpret it like a "marriage", and other's interpret it differently than that. But we won't really ever know what type of significance it is in their world since it's never completely explained. All we know is that it happens every 4 years and it binds a pair of sorcerers with a contract.

But it is really amazing how people fill in those missing/unexplained blanks with their own interpretations and such, from art, fics, posts, etc!! o(≧▽≦)o

S2 ended a month or so ago and they're barely beginning production for S3, unlike the other trailers and videos that Mappa has put out of their other series that have had more time for production (but also the favoritism is so obvious lol)

It's cool how we get to see the story boards though!! Reminds me of the teaser pic they put out back in 2025 for S2

And we get to see a glimpse of devil training Nikaido! She looks so gorgeous, the artist behind the storyboards must love her lots to make her so pretty <33

We also get a glimpse of the fight in Tamba's shop w/ Kai and his face getting partially cut in half by Kirion, I'm so excited to see it animated and drawn in detail

And Saji pie of course, made me giggle when I saw it, but it must be confusing as hell for anime only people I imagine

I'm so excited to see S3 and it's such a miracle that we're even getting it animated!! I wish we could've gotten more and that it would’ve been more of a teaser than a few storyboard panels, but I should be greatful that Mappa is even continuing the project </3

Now it's making me wonder where S3 will end, and if it will start with the tease of Aikawa's suicide like in the manga or not, especially since it’s unpredictable what scenes they keep or remove and since S2 had 11ep instead of the usual 12. Will the next season have more or less episodes? Where will it leave off at?? I wish I knew (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)

Especially the bathtub scene… so weirdly intimate and the first few panels can be taken out of context loll

But also, his model looks a lot more different that I though it would be, at least compared to manga Curse Σ(•’╻’• ۶)۶

In the manga it looked more so like he was enveloped in black smoke and flies/bugs, and we can see the whisps of smoke all around his body. The smoke is very fluid and wispy, and it doesn't have a set form or shape

In the anime though, it looks more like he’s wearing a literal black cloak with ripped/ragged ends, and the fumes of the smoke/flies seem to mostly come out of the top of his body like his arms and shoulders. Looks like he's wearing some sort of dress hehe, and it reminds me a lot of the types of cloaks that the DaiDark main 4 wear (besides Avakian)

I feel like his cloak/dress is especially evident here, showing his legs peeking out from under the skirt veil

Along with seeing him animated, we also get to see the differences from how he looked like in S1 vs S2!! Although we only get to see him for 2 frames in the first season lol

In S1 he looks more accurate to the guidebook Curse like most of the models in the anime, having sort of thicker thighs for some reason (not complaining hehe), but he also has what looks like maybe a second pair of arms? It interests me a lot as to what Mappa was aiming for, maybe they wanted to give Curse another set of arms just for show? Or maybe it's something else completely different? Hmm, not sure...

The difference of the close-ups of the eyes is really interesting too, like the clear difference of the shape of the mask and their eye shapes/color. So cool to see!! <33

AAAH THE X-RAYSSSS OF KAIMAN!!! This was one of the things that absolutely excited me when I watched it, this scene in the manga didn't show the actual x-rays until around the convenient store arc. Seeing the small little skulls shown so early along with extra pictures and notes of Kaiman's body is so cool!! I'm just so excited for what's to come <3

In the anime they made Risu infiltrate the mansion in secret and enter through the window, but in the manga he was able to get in because of his cross eyes and by connection, which I thought would've been cooler to have animated >_>

In the same scene, they changed the fabric curtains to these vertical blind curtains or something (I think is what they're called) which I think made the scene a lot more dramatic and visually appealing!! Must've been hard to animate them all, and it was hard getting any good screenshots with it </33 Super cool but I also think that I would've liked it with the normal curtains and had Risu transform to curse behind it like in the manga

But we also get this amazing closeup of Risu's mouth and Curse's mouth merging!! His little kitty fangs (^・ω・^ )

The statue of Chidaruma was HUUGE for some reason!! I remember watching it for the first time and thinking "woahh they made him big!!" But I definitely like the change! But they also got rid of Nikaido pushing Aikawa's ass </33 Mappa is such a hit or miss on these types of scenes...

Aaahh and the fight was so good!! A fight so worth waiting to see and Curse's little "?" noise in the anime was so cute!! His roar was the best thing from the whole scene though, along with the amazing sound effects! But also now that we got a better look of Curse's model I wasn't expecting it to more differently than how it is, but that's for another rant post hehe

Instead of Aikawa dragging Risu's body inside from the window, he immediately grabbed him and carried him bridal style and into his arms...so sweet... but they should've made Risu cuter like in the manga!!

In the same scene they didn't make Kawajiri try to cover himself up and pose cutely, which I was waiting to see animated and I was so sad when it didn't happen!! </33

AAH Don't get me started on the whole transitioning scene!! Genuinely SOOO amazing and jaw dropping!! The sound effects were so astounding and delicious too, and ohhhhhuebja I could talk about it all day long!!!!!!! THEY DID IT SO WELL I CAN'T STRESS IT ENOUGHH!! It was so heartbreaking hearing Aikawa’s voice while trying not to cry..</3 But i've seen a lot of people talk about it so ill stay quiet hehe

Natsuki's death was so much worse animated too, so gut wretching to see it animated, the noises, the visuals, UGHH so heartbreaking I felt a lump in my throat while watching it °՞(ᗒᗣᗕ)՞°

They also made changes though, Kai appeared in front of Natsuki less eerily like he did in the manga and they also removed the blood/sludge that he was covered in which kind of saddened me

Though, I'm really glad that they changed Natsuki's reaction in this scene, they definitely made her more uncomfortable and shocked when Kai got close to her, a more realistic reaction than in the manga. I feel like they definitely made Natsuki more mature and act more like a teenager in the anime, in the manga she seemed more sillier and naive, like Ebisu but not lobotomized. I suppose that explains her reaction in the manga, she seemed more happy and flustered by the reaction

Manga Natsuki let Kai kiss her, but anime Natsuki froze. Made me so much sadder to see </3

Can't get enough on how amazing the animation gets with every episode, the jellyfish room has to be one of my top 10 scenes in the whole series, everything about it including the small moment between Dokuga and Tetsujo and the fight with Nikaido were so well done. This episode had the best visual effects of the whole series, I just can't get over it. I'm seriously going to miss Doro Wednesdays so much UnU,,,

And I got super excited when we got to see En’s treasure room, it had so many manga references and new things that weren't in the manga or show till now!! Just small things really, but it intrigues me a lot since we get to see more of the characters and their world through small details and such <33

There was a lot more Chidaruma merch and things in the room than I thought there would be but I think it's super sweet since they are rather close. It's especially cute how En keeps photos of them together and what looks like his signature/note to En framed up in his precious treasure room, showing how important it is to him. But honestly it's probably to boast how close he is to literally the most powerful creature of their world lol

And the art of chibi Chidaruma is so adorable!! The top one looks similar to the cover for vol21 (at least for me hehe) and the bottom one shows Chidaruma's love for batter fried shrimp b4 he got bored of it, second time it was referenced along with the shrimp sorcerer that he made in the intro. There's also a devil coin showing the "hell" coin at the top left of the pictures, and in the guide book the hell coin is used to represent the devils!!!

The art is so cute, it also reminds me of the art style for the official pinched keychains that were released last year. It's also making me think whether the art is going to be merch or something because it really does look like it, like some sort of photocard or poster? Not sure but I really hope it becomes merch! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

Talking about devils, I wonder who's handprints are these! I imagine that the one on the left is Chidaruma's but who's the one on the right? I wonder which 4 fingered devil gave En his handprint

Plus the staffs at the bottom look so cool!!

Of course there is a baseball jersey and baseball trophies since it just wouldn't be a Q hayashida series without baseball inserted somewhere

And in the same picture, the picture frame at the bottom left looks like pins/buttons, and the picture frame on the top looks like stamps or maybe cards? Wish we could get a closeup but this is the only picture w/ them on screen >_<

There's also the "Official En fan club shirt" hung up, which was in the chapter 54 cover art, I just wish I could get to read what that red strip above the shirt says, something about live. Move Aikawa you're in the way!!!

Here it shows a lot of awards that En has won, and at the bottom it says "CD Award" along w/ vinyl records at the top, probably from his "hit theme song" for his restaurant, and maybe other songs that he has done?? I have that song in my playlist and I personally like it lol

In the same frame, there are some cute little figurines of En, a mushroom abomination/puppet, and the silly looking mushroom mascot that is literally everywhere in En's mansion (but I love it sm!!)

I also saw some1 say that the En figure on the far right side looks like a Funko Pop and I think that's the cutest thing evr!! I want one!!

Another picture that has Aikawa in the way (Move!!) shows more of those mushroom abominations/puppets that En makes at the bottom left and right, but what interests me the most is the frames at the top. They seem to be panels/storyboards or something but I can't tell what!! They're too small and blurry to make sense and its eating me alive aaarrghh!!!!! (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

From the same frame but on the right has this eerie but super cool painting of a face, but there's also some spaceships and space related things which interests me a lot too! This sort of confirms that sorcerers have gone to space b4 or at least do studies of space, which connects to Dai Dark!! I'm itching for more knowledge!!!

The most confusing thing for me in this whole scene was this weird mushroom hero costume, like what the hell is this?!?! Maybe its some weird marketing scheme for En's restaurant, or some sort of children's show that he made or something?? I don't know but it's so silly I want to hear more about it

There's probably some things that I missed or overlooked but these are the main things that i've noticed my first time watching!!

He's such a boastful asshole but I like him lots!! hehe

They both joined the cross eyes believing that they didn’t have valuable magic or any magic at all until they used En’s magic reader to see their magic level and they both scored high

At some point though, Aikawa finds out about it from either being told or eavesdropping, before Kai comes out and kills then in a gruesome way to get their devil tumor
