HI, I’m going to assume you meant GE Saeran, but if you meant SE, free feel to ask again. 

GE Saeran is many things. That is to say, he’s often curious about the rest of the world but while there are many things that can surprise him, it isn’t often that he is so surprised by something that he doesn’t know what to say. In the last couple of months, he’s gotten used to a lot of things but the sound of life around him is the one thing he isn’t used to quite yet. 

Crowds, people everywhere, it just wasn’t something that he was used to. The most that he was subjected to people was when they congregated for ceremony or service in the chapel of Mint Eye. Apart from that, he really doesn’t have a lot of experience being around people.

He likes his quiet time but there’s something freeing about being able to walk in a crowd without fearing for his life. One thing was for sure, he definitely wasn’t used to the occasional eye or two that spotted him and knew his face. The entire country knew about him and his brother now. 

Nobody went out of their way to bother him, per se. Not like they used to, but it was definitely now and again that eyes would follow his back without saying one single word about it. Most everyone supported them so it wasn’t much of a big concern. Strange to think that people knew him. 

He didn’t know them. 

Either way, he didn’t go out much because he preferred quiet time doing what he loved with you. It was still nice to have the option now and again. You weren’t by his side currently, you both were taking care of your own things. So, needless to say, when he was approached by an upset child, he didn’t quite know what to do at first. 

They were small, clearly too small to be wandering around on their own, but just old enough that they could handle a basic conversation. It sort of reminded him of when he was a child and when he clung to his brother. His stomach twisted at that memory, but he pushed it aside. 

“Dad?” 

Certainly, they weren’t referring to him.

“...?” 

When he looked at them clearly, the child realized their mistake and the tears had already begun to flow. The child admitted with hasty tears that they couldn’t find their dad. He glanced around but there really was no one in sight, so it had to mean this kid wandered off on their own and got lost. 

Their parents must have been worried about them. 

He wasn’t sure of the best way to help, but he knew that he could do something to help. So, he sank to his knees so the kid wouldn’t have to strain to look up at him. “Hey, it’s gonna be alright,” His voice was about as gentle as he could make it. “I’m sure he’s around here looking for you, too. We’ll find your dad, okay?”

The sniffles still lingered in the air but for the most part, the kid seemed to trust him. “O—Okay, mister.” 

Saeran wracked his brain for what he should do. “Hm, do you... remember what he was wearing?” 

The kid shook his head. Well, that wasn’t much help but it couldn’t have been that hard to miss a parent that was searching for their child frantically. He quietly offered the kid his hand and they went to search the nearby area. 

If there wasn’t anyone around, they’d circle back and wait for you to come back around to make some better help. 

“What if we can’t find him?” 

“We’ll find him. You just have to be a little... brave, okay? Try really hard to see if you see him. It shouldn’t be much longer. I lost my brother once, but I found him because I didn’t give up.” 

“Really?” 

“Yeah. You just can’t give up when you’re scared. Even if you’re scared, you can still do something brave.”

He knew what that felt like... he spent a whole afternoon trying to find his brother before he got scared and had to run home. He didn’t know what to do when he couldn’t find him. It was scary and he didn’t know what to do. He was so scared that his brother was dead that he...

He gave up because he wasn’t brave enough.
