ăthe truth in my eyesă
mixgrimâ:
he is too weak to bicker with her like they usually did, so he just let out a flat sigh, when she told him off at his comment how he just wanted to hang out. âi wanted to see you.â the truth is slipping past his lips way easier than expected and dohwan wasnât too sure how eunmi would handle it, thinking of the past that connected the two of them. with a suppressed groan he lift up his body that felt like deadweight after throwing in painkillers from the seat. âbut if you have plans for tonight, iâll go.â the dark orbs which usually pooled strength and ruthlessness were dull and cold, as he looked past her like staring at the ghost of foretime. even if he was honest now, he had no clue how to prove it to eunmi so she would believe him.
depite their rather close relationship they always remained at a certain distance which made it hard to actually tell her about the secrets he held onto. the two of them belonged to different worlds, even when they lingered in similiar social circles at times. if she didnât knew, she wouldnât be endangered. thatâs the kind of logic he had pursued since the day he had started to grow more distant towards her who he had always treated as his top priority. and up to this moment he was still biased towards the idea of her better not knowing about the blood sticking to his hands. so why was he still drawn to her and to the urge to reveal his identity? why, after all these years of remaining silent?
the sharp pain in his side reminded him at once. if he was a less lucky guy, major organs would have been hit and he would have bleeded out like a pig on the spot. âiâm sorry i couldnât check up on you these past days⌠i had to⌠handle a few things.â manhandle to be precise, he thought, as he tried hard to keep his usual body posture that radiated confidence and strength.
it feels too honest, how he says he wanted to see her, and eunmi would scoff if she didnât know better, if she couldnât tell from the moment she saw him that something was wrong. â stop, â she nearly huffs, annoyance etched in the details of her face as she watches him. â why are you here instead of a hospital? â though she should know the answer by now, she should know whatâs going on with him, she could know, and itâs always been there  â  why her father favors him, why her father trusts dohwan to watch over her on his own. sheâs never thought heâs innocent in his . . . side hobbies, but sheâs never asked either. some days, sheâs convinced heâs that one who established that line between him but she didnât fight to change it.Â
â you canât, right? â not being able to get documented medical treatment seemed to be a norm on the island and she looks away for a moment, walks away into her closet again only to come back in comfier clothes and some for him to change into, even though itâll only create an additional hassle of him asking why she has spare mens clothes around. eunmi deliberately ignores what he says. if she doesnât ask, itâs easier for him, maybe even easier for her to pretend she doesnât like how he endangers himself.Â
it makes her ask too many questions, only voiced in her own mind; like why does her father trust him so much, what has he done if heâs been doing this for years, why is he so badly injured and still coming here like an idiot when she has only the most basic of medical training. sheâs no seungjin, thatâs certain, couldâve never been pre-med or anything of the sort.Â
â that chair is uncomfortable. you might as well lay down. âÂ

ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ Â ( 8 ) A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME // MINJIâ
as a general rule of thumb, she doesnât do sleepovers. not with so-called friends, certainly no less with people sheâs hooked up with, and, never, just never, because she canât trust anyone to sleep around. thereâs a rare handful sheâs willing to around, a few that she isnât even aware of and itâs after planning late into the night for one of her fatherâs endless events with minji that eunmi does unintentionally, surprisingly fall asleep.Â
when she does awaken, sunlight barely breaks through the curtains and she realizes, that of all places and positions, sheâs fallen asleep on minjiâs couch and not too far away is minji herself. a blanket slips from over her as she sits up and tries oh-so-quickly to gather her bearings. itâs not as if minjiâs place is unfamiliar to her by now but she hadnât expected this, hadnât expected that she trusted minji that much but her body knows herself better than she does at time and it seems that she was so relaxed, too relaxed.Â
without knowing, sheâs forced to realize just how much she enjoys the floristâ company, even beyond business. this certainly feels beyond business as she looks over minjiâs sleeping form, taking the blanket that had been draped over her and gently covering the other with it. in a random bout of affection, as if some final act of confirmation that, indeed, minji seems to be a genuine friend, she leans down and places a light kiss to minjiâs forehead before deciding to take an early leave. undoubtedly, her fiance will have something to say about the lack of response for the past night. sheâs just always so improper in his eyes after all.Â
helloooooo there, itâs ya girl fixing her following list ( oh yes, yet again !! ) coming in suuuuper late but ay better late than preggo my eggo right? or well iâm going to later. aHEM anyway  â  so if u noticed a little âmieunmi is following youâ sometime today or tomorrow i promise it wasnât just me messing around and if i happened to miss anyone somehow, pls let me know.Â

ăiâll be your last resortă
mixgrimâ:
dohwanâs behaviour was hard to describe, hard to put into words as he was one moody fellow. it wasnât easy to grasp it by outsiders, since the way he treated eunmi was unreasonable. even he didnât know why he was going so far for her, when all the two of them was constantly fighting and bickering over petty things. but even when he was confusing as hell, her comment is more than ridiculous. âdo you think food is more important to me than- â the weight of his words hit him at once and he stops himself from ridicule the situation with another spiral of complicated and blurred slurs.
âiâm coming with you.â he insists while picking up his car keys. it was true, even if he had visited clubs on a regular base back then, he wasnât the type to flounder his body around in the same idiotic ways other club guests did in order to attract the opposite gender. âiâll be by the bar, getting a few drinks.â him, dancing, that was definitely something she wouldnât dare to see. the only dance was the one he did with victims that were trying to get away. black orbs muster her, when he walks past her towards the door. dohwan turns around one more time, deliberately making a remark to tease her right back. âgot a problem with that, milady?â
standing by the door, ready to take over the night in myeongcho, he gets caught back by her scoffing. if it wasnât for eunmi, the two of them wouldnât be able to see each other as often as they did now. if it wasnât for eunmi, dohwan would have broke apart their bond for the longest time, just like he had done it with other relationships before. âare you coming now?â
part of her thinks she ought to leave his question where it is, entirely overlook the opportunity to mock him for it when he made it all too easy. but just how easy it is just adds onto the problem with it, onto the problem of asking how important she is. so she scoffs, brows raising only momentarily before she laughs it off.Â
â what if i donât want to go with you? you scare off anyone that wants to dance with me. you could burn holes into the dance floor, â which she supposes is at least better than bullet holes but still. â youâre so inconsistent. one minute, you concede to the fact that iâm not a lady and the next you think youâre so clever by calling me one to taunt me. do you think iâm that easily provoked? did you think i would really go if you do? â
glancing back at his kitchen, she rolls her eyes. â why donât you stay in and eat your dinner and go to bed, grandpa? youâre too old and tired for the club, donât you think? what if you slip on your way to the bar? just a walking lawsuit waiting to happen. â Â

mixgrimâ:
he sits with the back towards the door, where she is coming in from, but he hears her nonetheless, slightly turning his head, when she walked past him towards her closet. at the sight of the towel that barely covered her bare body, dohwan turned his head away, partly out of politeness and partly out of fear to be called a pervert. she greets him with a wave of her hand so he returns the gesture weakly, absentminded. things didnât go well these days. never had he believed that there was a traitor among hydrus member, and of all people it had been their second-in-command as well. the trust among the members had been completely destroyed and grim was actually one of them. drifter had been loved by everyone, had been charismatic and bright like a flame to lure in moths to come to close to its killing heat.
but to him those who were blinding shouldnât be on top. in order to be kingâs right hand man, one had to become a monster. that was why he had been tempted to offer himself. only someone who was loyal to hydrus and was willing to give his all to the gang, was suited to become the new sic. however he saw it, things had turned against him, despite his work and efforts to prove himself, the position had been snatched away like a snack by someone grim would have never imagined to be eyeing that position. rage had consumed his heart since then, and along of it, the pain of his wound sent bolts throughout his whole body whenever he did a step. he was sure that it was a dark age of hydrus and who knew how things would end up for them with that kind of guy as kingâs right hand man.
eunmi returns fully closed and dohwan can relax as soon as she comes up to him, mustering him. his eyes reflect tiredness and he can barely keep them open, and how much he would love to let himself fall into a good, recovering slumber, the wound wouldnât let him. âno, things had calmed down mostly.â he utters short-breathed, not making eye contact with her at all because he felt that she would sense easier what was going on with him and the piercing pain in his side. âiâm just here to hang out, so donât overthink things.â dohwan attempts to tease her like he usually did, but it rather sounded pathetic because in fact he wasnât here to just hang out. the urge to see her, in case he wouldnât survive the night, had pushed him forward to his estate after all. âand your house looks better than mine.â
she isnât foolish enough to believe he hasnât had enough on his mind with the recent events but that doesnât make her courteous enough to forgive it just yet either; to forget that someone so concerned with her well-being to the point of not allowing her to drink or go out clubbing or to any place deemed unsavory or not ladylike ( whatever the hell that means ) didnât check on her through all of the chaos. eunmi is selfish that way, bratty, a little too pressed when it comes to dohwan and how he spends his time or company. unknowingly, heâs one of her easiest triggers and thinking that sheâs annoyed by him is the full extent of his knowledge of her feelings. itâs how everything between them is brushed off  â  annoyance, a burden, some kind of hidden, secret, and unspoken obligation because of childhood attachment.Â
â hang out  â  iâm not some host or something. iâm not here to entertain you at whim. what if i had plans? â and, truthfully, even if she did, she cancels, ironically, at whim. she is the one who treats others as if they are to entertain her on whim and she does so shamelessly. if anything, eunmi is good at it for absolutely no reason other than she utilizes power to her advantage, loves to see how far people are willing to go for her favor, for her fatherâs favor, and, most of the time, in terms of entertainment and that only, people donât disappoint. in the end, itâs boredom that determines her time limit for someone. so the very concept she mocks dohwan for is what sheâs guilty of.Â
eyes narrowing, she doesnât understand why heâs so avoidant despite coming here, using lame excuses such as how appealing her house is. â of course it is, itâs my house but youâre no interior designer nor do you have the interest so are you going to tell me the truth or should i just leave while you figure out a better lie at the very least? â
not barbie,
                                      ( * a kiss for you ⌠@mieunmi !! )
jessica likes pretty things.
itâs one of the more materialistic attributes she has. she likes nice jewelry, clothing thatâs so soft against your skin it lulls you into sleep. she likes pretty faces with nice complexions and even sweeter smiles. she likes things with gemstones and accents that are fit for queens and kings. she didnât grow up with these sort of things, but oh, how she loves them, and god does she have an eye for the aesthetic.
even now, trailing her eyes down the girlâs body in thought, head tilting to the side as she hums idly. she studies the fabric over the fair skinned girl carefully, teeth worrying her lower lip. the lavender looks lovely against eunmiâs complexion, pretty enough that it makes jessica relax a bit. sharp fingernails tap a rhythm on her arm, digging into her skin when she gets caught up in a thought.
âit fits you, as usual.â her voice is soft, quiet. her expression doesnât change from the studious one that still takes home on her features. âthough itâsâŚmissing something. what sort of jewelry were you thinking of matching it with?â a pause. her eyes narrow as she clicks her tongue. âif you highlight your cheeks with something more translucent, itâll bring out the color nicely.â
jessica has soft lips and a sharp, honest tongue. that was eunmiâs first deduction even without knowing her, even without a name. but getting a name isnât hard to manage and befriending the woman seems easier still. itâs keeping her interest, on both sides, that eunmi believes is the true test.Â
if anything, eunmi ought to see jessica as a role model. ought to being the key words because eunmi hardly thinks anyone is worthy, detests the concept of a role model when she only strives to be herself one day, to make her own decisions one day.Â
that said, sheâd deny it to her absolute core that jessica is a role model to her but, in another life, she could admit so with ease, that jessica is a powerful woman who acts of her own will. what else could any woman aspire to, truthfully, in a world so predominantly biased towards men? â anything could, â she jokes with a light tone, feigned boredom when really she adores styles like this, adores being styled like this. so few people know her taste this well.Â
â mm, well you know as well as i do that i donât need jewelry but i do favor opal so much. â her attachment to the fire opal necklace left behind by her mother is always unspoken but it doesnât quite match in this case. â i didnât think event planners also dabble in such arts. truly a master of all trades, arenât you? â Â

sweater weather ,
@minjixmiâ:  â  CONTINUE PLAYING? [YES] [NO]
âAre you alright?â the question is asked without missing a beat as soon as Minji caught what she thought was a shiver of the other womanâs shoulders. It wasnât necessarily freezing out that autumn, but with evening approaching, the temperature was slowly dropping, and she knew that not everyone reacted to certain conditions in the same way. âHere, take my jacket, please. I think it would do you more good than it is for me.â She doesnât wait for an answer before sheâs shrugging off her jacket, fixing the sleeves of her sweater in the process, before she steps over closure to Eunmi, standing in front of her as she moves to gingerly drape the jacket over her shoulders with a smile on her lips.
âPlus, it looks better on you.â
                            ââââââââââââ
â oh  â  you didnât have to, iâll be perfectly fine. â and itâs true for far more than just this, than just the fall breeze that brings a chill to bare skin, a poor choice on her part if she wanted to dress for the weather but off the shoulder tops are her absolute favorite. itâs an answer sheâs far too used to giving, that sheâll be fine and itâs always fine, barely neutral, more negative than positive, because fine is as much as she can expect in her position.Â
minjiâs quicker than she is though and far more chivalrous, much kinder than eunmi is used to and she can only smile, not having it in her to say no to the florist. the warmth from the jacket is undeniable and eunmi doesnât have to look at minji in order to know the warmth is truly from the owner more than the jacket itself. sewn pieces of cloth cannot compare to the kindness of the woman in front of her and eunmi considers herself more lucky than sheâd openly admit, even to minji. â anything looks good on me, â she jokes, a sly grin on her lips, one that eases, softens as her gaze meets minjiâs. â but the same can be said for you. âÂ

âââââââââââââââââââââââââââ ( 10 ) SLEEPY HOLLOW ⯠BACKDATED // GRIM
he didnât have to come along, she tells him that each time, but he almost always doesnât listen when itâs an issue of her â security. â it wouldâve been easy enough to continue studying in his living room, occupying most of the space there as if it belongs to her, but there wouldnât have been access to the same resources  â  older texts her professor had insisted was necessary during the lecture eunmi pretends not to listen to. sheâs too restless to otherwise, fingers tapping lightly against the notebook she brought before tapping away on her laptop to reply to messages, bored to an outsiderâs eye but listening intently by her own standards.Â
itâs abnormal for him to doze off, but theyâre in a private study room in the library, door locked and privacy given to them because of who she is  â  not to mention, she wouldnât have gone there if she couldnât ensure it. a reputation is nothing if itâs not kept intact by some means. when she looks up from the pages she was looking over now, taking quotes here and there for the term paper, she thinks itâs funny how it would take anyone else another look. put sunglasses on him and he looks like the grump he pretends to be but awake. heâd look awake. in this moment, sheâs aware just how lost to slumber he must be, how exhausted he was yet he was so adamant on coming. eunmi rolls her eyes even though she knows itâs endearing, even though she knows he can trust him especially in times like this  â  because she mocks him, constantly tries to annoy him, pushes his limits, but, over and over, he puts her first.Â
she doesnât have much else to offer, not having brought anything of the sort with her, but she drapes the jacket heâd given her earlier over him, lingering as her hand hovers just over his head. fingertips barely brush against his hair and she pulls her hand away, clearing her throat. if she kept at this pace, sheâd be done soon anyway, all the more reason to focus instead of this.Â
ăthe truth in my eyesă
"The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is."
@mieunmi
the zooming sound of the surveillance cameras on him, as soon as he stood in front of the gate to eunmiâs home, brought back memories from the past. when he was younger, he had been here more often, had tagged along with the other two of their group of four to visit eunmi, when they felt like it. now it was rather rare for him to be the one at her door, as he was usually too busy to come over just like that. she however looked for him on a more regular base, since eunmi usually was the one who entered his house without his knowledge because she had easier access to his estate than he to hers. it was obvious that the shim family was more careful about their surroundings than a unimportant family like the woo family, so dohwan waited patiently in front of the gate, holding his face up to be identified. he might appear suspicious, wearing all black, cap pulled down and being a tall and broad hunk, but he had been here often enough for the housekeeper to know his face. silently he followed the staff member inside, into the wide rooms of the shim familyâs residence, before he took off his cap and settled down on a seat in eunmiâs bedroom.
without another word the housekeeper left the room, left him alone in his friendâs chambers, who was nowhere to be seen. he leaned back and closed his eyes for a moment, one hand on his lap, the other pressed to his stomache. a uncomfortable feeling, pain settled in his guts, while he was sitting in await of eunmiâs return, and it was the reason for his surprise visit. dohwan huffed, sharply breathed in, when he shifted himself. his complexion didnât looked as healthy as usual. looking around his friend was nowhere to be seen, so he took out a pill and crushed them between his teeth. a bitter taste spread all over his mouth and dohwan shuddered. he wasnât used to painkillers, normally he would just bear with the pain coming from wounds and injuries, but this time it was different. this time it raised the question of âwhat ifâ.
nothing had transpired and yet she felt as if there was a stench, an aura of sorts that clung to her skin once her fiance left. he insisted on checking in on her and she has no idea where this notion of concern comes from. to check in on her for the sake of ensuring the deal is safe, that the companies will still merge in the end once they marry, a simple call or text would suffice. he could call her father just as easily to find out. his assistant calls or texts just as often anyway and so she's still confused even as she finishes her shower. the truth is, heâd been coming around more often the past few weeks and, while she acknowledges thereâs been some prompting events, itâs just odd. sheâd much rather it stay as it is, a business arrangement and, as such, unless the marriage is executed, nothing is final.Â
she expects her room to be empty when she steps out of the bathroom and so when she spots a familiar figure casually sitting in her room, she tries not to show her surprise  â  if it were anyone else, she mightâve panicked, mightâve yelled at them to get out without invitation but it is dohwan after all. he is the last person she would expect to try to take advantage of a situation and so sheâs nonchalant as she walks over to her closet, barely acknowledging him with a wave of her hand despite holding onto her towel a little tighter. good thing she had chosen to wear one today of all days.Â
itâs rare for him to stop by without notice, without answering any of the calls or texts before coming over, so she stares intently at him once she comes back out, unsure of whether or not sheâd have to leave so sheâs dressed as if going out in the first place, towel drying her hair as she leans against her vanity across from him. he looks paler is her first observation and sheâd seen it before, normally saw it as a result of exhaustion but this was more than that. it had to be. â not busy anymore? â she asks, fully aware that heâd likely been dealing with the aftermath of the broadcast  â  secretly, she hopes heâd done nothing for it but she knows better, knows how unlikely it is.Â

blooming (eunmi & minji)
minjixmiâ:
âreally?â minji asks without a second though to eunmiâs words, a gentle smile forming on her lips. it was hard for her not to feel almost completely enamored in the other womanâs presence; she had to remind herself constantly not to overstep the boundaries of friendship. even if she canât help the way her heart flutters in her chest as the other brings the sunflower closer to her face, her smile growing a little brighter, âyou have a good point⌠but I just love seeing your smile, it makes me happy.â she admits, smile still resting genuinely over her features.       Â
âoh?â minji perks up a little more at the request, one that she knows she doesnât have to think over â for someone that showed such a love for flowers, and such a kindness towards her, there was no question on whether or not she could do the work, sheâd do it. no questions, no complaints, because thatâs what friends do, right? âI would be honored to help. Making arrangements is always more enjoyable when itâs for you.â
and perhaps it would be a way for them to grow closer to one another â although, naturally, their friendship had been growing wonderfully already. minji just wanted to learn more about eunmi, and spending time to help her was always welcome in her book. in all honesty, minji felt like she would do just about anything for her; floral related, or otherwise.
âdo you need help in figuring out a theme? the shop has some new arrivals, if that might be of any help to get any ideas?â
normally if eunmi were to be told such sweet words by anyone else, she wouldnât take them past face value. normally, she just writes them off, automatically determines itâs part of some ploy but, with minji, she acknowledges the sincerity. thereâs just something about her that eunmi actually trusts compared to others and thereâs rarely anyone she trusts now that she hasnât known for years. minji happens to be an exception to that particular unspoken rule.Â
not many know of her love for flowers either  â  itâs not exactly something she wants to advertise, that she does enjoy them because of the possible misconstruction that she likes them purely for the romantic aspect. itâs always been a shame to turn down flowers but she wasnât foolish enough to entertain just anyone who tried to court her when she was younger. her father wouldnât stand for it and his high standards had become hers in stead. for ease, she would say she preferred more â unique â gifts and she does admit the attempts were quite amusing. again, minji is an exception to yet another rule.Â
thereâs a few more that eunmi overlooks, that she doesnât realize minji leaps over effortlessly but she doesnât mind it either. that in and of itself speaks volumes. â oh  â  yes, that would be perfect. but the same rule applies, no orchids anywhere in sight. â she never questioned why her father disliked them so much, but the flicker of sadness told her enough, enough that she didnât want to pry despite how much she liked the flower too. there were plenty more to admire anyway. â mm, he does seem to want a more regal theme this year. something terribly cliche as always, â she says with a light roll of her eyes. â actually, a masquerade. i believe that might be what he ends up choosing. â she does known his taste well after all. â oh, iâm sorry. you could obviously attend if youâd like to. you donât have to work for it. â
She is half human and half hurricane, a half thatâs living to destroy and a half thatâs trying to survive.
