Witcher Mini-bang FAQs!
Since there might be some questions regarding what the event is and how it might exactly work, I'm putting down an FAQ to maybe clarify some of those questions!. If there's any more questions feel free to leave them down here or send me an ask!
What exactly is a mini-bang?
A mini-bang is just a smaller version of a Big Bang Event. Don't know what a big bang is in the first place? In short, it's basically an event involving fanfics, accompanied by fan art, a collaboration between writers and artists, where the artists make a piece to go along with the story. All adaptations of the Witcher would be allowed as the source material for the event.
2. How will the WItcher Mini-Bang work?
Once everyone has signed up, writers will be sending in summaries for their fics, which will consist of the summary as well as fic rating, potential word count, characters, relationships, fic tags and any warnings if applicable. Once submitted, a form would be made for the artists and beta readers where they would be able to go through the summaries and select their top 3 fics they'd like to work with. According to the inputs, I will then be assigning teams, which will then be working together, discussing the fics within their teams/other participants in the server for additional inputs if they'd like.

I've been working on some fanart for one of my favourite Witcher fics, A Lover's Lament by @somedrunkpirate. It's 25k words of scary, beautiful and enthralling Geraskier fic, with one of the most original monster ideas I've ever read! It's been ages since I got my Krita out, so I did some smutty art for my AO3 fic! 🥳🌈
The fic is now complete at 22 chapters and 118k words long, full of all my favourite things: serial killer horror vibes, sci-fi monsters, egregious smut and a happy ever after ending. It's a "witchers in space" kind of alternative universe (people have told me it reads a bit like an episode of Firefly, which I was very flattered by!!), so if you're looking for something a bit different to read you can check it out on AO3 here:

Archaeologising in Glenelg, with a wee visit to a pair of neighbouring brochs - Dun Telve and Dun Troddan. My partner is obsessed with brochs and was pretty happy to see these twin beauties! Nobody really knows what brochs were built for (theories abound), but there's a lot of them in Scotland, particularly in the North and West. They're late Iron Age but some were in use until the Early Medieval (Dark Ages) – and these ones are apparently from around 400-200 BCE.
Something very noticeable - over two thousand years later, it's still bone dry inside the walls – which in a place as damp, mossy and rainy as here is a real testament to the skills of the builders. Dun Telve is over 10m high and would be more intact, but in 1722 the British State robbed half of it out to build the Bernera Barracks – part of the fledging United Kingdom's deliberate destruction of Gaelic culture and the beginnings of its ethnic cleansing of the Scottish Highlands.
But the brochs still endure – watching over Gleann Beag and unmoved by the elements...

He had this dream first on a Monday, and he had it every day since then. Today was Sunday. The clearing stretched just halfway towards the horizon in all directions; he rowed towards the vessel for an abstractly long while. He was well acquainted already with the main deck of the old schooner, so he went below, he went to the galley, he went to the head, he inspected the forecastle and the hold—all from mere idle curiosity. He looked into the mate's stateroom. There he saw Little, reading a book, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Only at last he went to the cabin. And it was not himself that he saw here now, on a Sunday, and not Fitzjames. On the bed, under blankets, lay the giant Magnus Manson. On the captain's desk (not at it on the chair, but rudely on top of it) sat the icy cadaver of Hickey, the caulker's mate. The lifeless little and pale figure, with frost shimmering like satin in the light of the oil lamp, almost a porcelain doll with physiognomy of a sneering ferret, was unnaturally twisted that it faced the door, frozen eyes gawking at him. Crozier started, then he shook his head and went closer. Books on the desk were open—they were the same as when it was himself and Fitzjames peopling the cabin. He looked at the body, its frozen eyes still as if aimed at him despite the minute change of the angle, and when he made a step—the eyes followed him, and an eyelid strained in an attempt to blink...
Crozier sensed a devil of the worst sort in him.

The prompt was 'sailing on a boat together', so naturally this art had to involve the coast, and if I can work in a scene from Homer's Odyssey then so much the better!
NB: No sirens were harmed during this date. Jaskier just wanted to listen to their trippy music and Geralt was feeling indulgent...

I have done a few arts for this particular story but I don't want to share them all right now cos some are endings for the visual novel I made with RenPy. You can pick a ship (Jaskier/Geralt or Jaskier/Geralt/Yennefer) to choose the ending you want from the story.
