It had been months since Byleth had married Dimitri, making her Queen of Faerghus. She enjoyed being with her lovely, protective Dimitri, she had also told him she was pregnant and that the baby was his, a little girl was to be born to the Blayddid family. As soon as Dimitri heard the child's gender, he was over the moon with joy, not only was his beloved wife expecting, but she was also expecting a little girl whom he'd love and cherish and protect from all the boys in the kingdom..
One day, Faerghus knights, a Cavalier, had come into the castle, injured. her horse was being tended to, as she ran towards Dedue and Dimitri.
"Your highness!" The knight yelled.
"Yes?" Dimitri begins. He was in a meeting with his former classmates, Flayn, Seteth, and Gillbert.
"I-It's about Lady Byleth.." She begins, catching Dimitri's attention.
"What about Byleth?" Dimitri wondered.
"S-She's been kidnapped." She says again. "A group of bandits came towards us as captured her, they even left a ransom... they demand 10,000 gold for Lady Byleth and your unborn daughter."
"What?!" Dimitri roars. He grabs a lance as he sets out for the castle doors.
"Where are you going, your highness?" Ingrid asked.
"To rescue my wife." Dimitri grunts.
"These meetings do get boring at times, I'm coming to sharpen my sword." Felix says.
"I'm coming too." Dedue nods. "Lady Byleth is in need of our help."
"But where will Byleth be? She could be in any part of Faerghus by now!" Annette whispered.
"We'll try the more common hide out for thieves, then we'll search their less used hide outs." Everyone set out as Dimitri looked downwards.
(I swear, I'll kill anyone who dares harm a hair on your head or harm our child, beloved. I will save you.. Both of you.)
"P-Please!" Byleth whimpered as she looked at her captors trying to drain her and her daughter's capture for money.
"Sweet, Dis Archbisop's gonna be da ticket outta dis joint!" One of the thieves grinned.
"You know, you ain't movin outta dese chains till ya husband coughs up da dough!" A female thief grins as she places a blade close to her throat.
"Git movin, ya punks." The thief leader growls. "We're gettin company." The thieves ran towards the Blue Lions and fought with them, the thieves falling one by one. The door of the room where Byleth was banging violently.
"I-I'll give you more gold, just don't hurt my baby..." Byleth whimpered.
(CRASH!!) Dimitri broke through, he stopped as he saw Byleth, his wife.
What had these beasts done to her?
"D-Dimitri?" Byleth asked, her voice frail as a leaf.
"Beloved..." Dimitri whimpered. His eye couldn't lie to him, he wanted this to be a dream, but this was only the cold hard reality... One of Byleth's eyes was swollen shut, her nose dripping blood, her face bruised and beaten, her arms and legs chained as if she was a vicious beast, her left eye, was red with tears. Her stomach was safe.... Their child was safe. Dimitri walked towards Byleth, ripping off her chains with a mighty roar as she jumped into his arms, her face spilling blood and tears.
"DIMITRI!!" She whimpers as she begins to cry "They were going to injure our baby, our child... I felt so, weak..."
"Do not say that." Dimitri says as he comforts her. his hands gently stroking her hair, calming her down.
"But, our child could've died..." Byleth sniffs.
"What matters now is that you are safe." He replies as he wipes tears and blood from her face, gently kissing her forehead and her stomach.
"You both are the only things that I love with all my heart." Dimitri says.
He'd never let Byleth travel alone, no matter how well guarded she was.
