demons  weren’t  a  new  concept  for  him .        they  seemed  to  linger  along  the  fringes  of  the  church ,  claws  scratching  desperately  at  the  walls  to  bore  their  way  in  to  desecrate  these  holy  grounds .        ruv ,  a  saint  to  an  angel ,  almost  a  savior ,  in  a  sense ,  to  the  church    ――――    thwarted  such  demons .        but  out  of  all  he  had  seen ,  she  piqued  his  sluggish  mind  the  most .        demons  were  unruly  things .        volatile ,  steeped  in  centuries  of  hatred    &.    rage .        yet  she  carried  a  smile  at  all times .        genuine    &.    kind .        it  was  atypical ,  nay ,  almost  unheard  of    ――――    &.    that  was  what  caused  RUV  to  think .        boyfriend  was  preoccupied  in  the  bathroom  as  they  waited  through  the  couple’s  second  time  coming  through  the  area .        ❝    you  are  not  like  others .        more  happy .        you  are  human - like .        how  is  that ?    ❝

❝    is  not  so  bad .        once  you  get  the  hang  of  it .    ❝            the  jersey  was  worn  over  his  thick  jacket ,  orange  ball  held  between  gloved  hands .        though  he  was  athletic ,  sports  weren’t  a  specialty ,  per  se .        in  his  younger  days  he  spent  time  playing  various  sports  as  a  past  time    ――――      always  with  the  same  five  or  six  kids  before  the  famine  struck  their  town .        ruv  manages  to  toss  the  ball    &.   have  it  messily  make  it  into  the  basket ,  the  ball  dribbling  over  into  HEX’S  robotic  hands  as  he  readjusts  his  hat .            ❝    is  just  getting  the  ball  into  the  basket ,  no ?    ❝

❝    baking    . . .    ?        last  time  i  baked ,  put  gun  powder  instead  of  flour  in  recipe .    ❝            if  he  was  going  to  be  entirely  honest ,  he  was  more  of  a  lost  cause  when  it  came  to  anything  cooking  related    ――――      it  wasn’t  a  skill  he  had  honed  nor  a  skill  he  had  a  chance  to  develop .        always  slipping  in    &.    corner  bakeries  with  ease ,  pastries  clutched  in  his  hands  as  if  they  were  a treasure  during  his  childhood .        helping  to  provide  for  his  family .        he  stole  what  they  needed    &.    not  a  single  question  arose  from  it .        tall  form  sits  in  a  fluffed  chair  with  hands  stuffed  in  his  jacket  pockets  as  the  toe  of  his  boot  idly  glides  across  the  carpet .            ❝    not  a  good  idea  to  have  me  bake .    ❝
