Wouldn’t it be COOL if they flipped it and remade old live action movies as ANIMATED MOVIES?! (ok, maybe not, but it’s a fun mental exercise) And they could continue recycling old animation like they did in the old Disney movies. (When you saw Snow White’s dance show up on a Maid Marion or any given AristoCat) . Inspired by Jungle Book, here’s my version of Yoda doing “the dance” that was originally animated by Frank Thomas. As an animation exercise, I tried using those moves on a new character. (my humblest apologies, Mr. Thomas) . If you’re brave enough to turn the sound on, you can hear my hackneyed attempt to make John Williams sound like Louis Prima. I have GarageBand on my computer and had music class in elementary school. It’s a feeble attempt but hopefully it’s enough to let you imagine what I’m hearing in my head. (my apologies to music lovers everywhere) . Here’s another tease of what’s coming on Tuesday for #maythe4thbewithyou . Initially this was animated in Maya with a toon shader but just wasn’t integrating with the 2D elements of the scene. So I just traced it by hand.
