With glazed over eyes, Otto was trying her absolute damnedest to keep herself focused on the conversation at hand. She had been working a shorter shift at Callbacks this evening, but it seemed like every time she only had thirty minutes left of a shift, her attention span shortened to dangerous levels and all she could think about was the walk home. Otto might have been living in New York for over a year now, but it never stopped her nerves from spiking whenever she had night shifts. However, Michael had always been more than willing to walk her home from her shifts whenever he was able to. It was nice, really, living in New York City and also getting to spend a ton of time with her boyfriend. The two had been dating for two years now and truthfully, Otto was happier than she ever thought she would have been. She had almost always envisioned a life on the move, whether it be traveling the world with nothing but a backpack and a lot of trust in strangers or touring with her father⌠now that she was planting her own roots in a big city though? It felt like her fate.Â
âIâm out,â Otto said with a big cheesy grin, knowing that her co worker was in for a night of pain if the same guy that had been chatting her ear off for the last twenty minutes caught interest in her. Within no time, Otto had grabbed her jacket before she was escaping through the side âemployees onlyâ door and nearly stumbling into Michael. She squealed before she was wrapping her arms around his waist, sighing in happiness at finally feeling like she was where she belonged. âHi,â she said sheepishly, keeping her arms wrapped around his waist as she rested her chin against his chest and looked up at him. âI have to film tonight but do you wanna spend the night?â Sometimes it paid so much to have her own apartment, especially whenever Michaelâs place in her bed seemed like a near nightly occurrence lately. âYou can like, I dunno, play on my PC or something.â Otto had spent⌠quite the small fortune on PC and gaming equipment in a way to try and feel closer to Ophie. It hadnât worked and quite frankly, the gaming equipment was starting to gather dust. @michaelchangiiiâ
When Michael and Otto first started dating, he never really envisioned how things would have evolved over the past two years. Anything that could have popped into his mind was nowhere near how amazing things had actually been. Things were hard at first, but since Otto had decided to actually plant roots in the city, things were great. And nights like these were great. He didnât mind meeting her after work for a walk home. Honestly, he preferred whenever he could meet her after working a late night. The last thing he wanted was for her to be walking alone in the city late at night. Although, it was easy to get bored standing outside of the back door at Callbacks waiting for her shift to end. There wasnât enough posts on Instagram to hold his interest. Thankfully, it wasnât too long before his girlfriend popped through the door and wrapped her arms around him.
âHey, babe,â he replied with a grin. He nodded his head at her question, before leaning down to press a small kiss against her lips. Michael had always been, and would likely always be, her biggest fan, so he would never mind a night of watching her film. Plus, it wasnât like he would want to spend his night anywhere else but with her. âIâll try to stay busy so you can share your talent with your other fans,â he joked with a breathy laugh. He reached down and intertwined their fingers, beginning to walk in the direction of her place. Heâd been pretty prepared to stay at her place anyway. It wasnât like he needed to bring over extra clothes or anything. Most of those things, including his own toothbrush, were already at her place. âHow was work tonight?â He asked, reaching up to push back some strands of his hair that were hanging over his forehead.âHow did you survive the night missing me so much?â
