Guys, this is an actual picture of the past two weeks of us at home. Lightning hit our home two Tuesday's ago and knocked out the power of everything in the second floor excluding thankfully the AC. The first electrician scared the besparkled-bejesus out of us insisting that because he couldn't find the problem, we'd have to rewire the second floor--and of course, we can't *just* rewire the second floor, it should be the entire home because, you know, safety. And all for the mere pennies of 22 THOUSAND dollars--but don't start with the insurance company, let them know after the fact, so it's be the "easy" process of getting refunded out of pocket. So... That pequeñito was a master bs-er and we quickly figured out his intentions. After we got an honest company to give us an honest estimate and to truly know what they were doing--it ended up being a really simple fix, we got our electricity back yesterday. We spent a week without Internet: not bad. We spent two weeks in the dark upstairs being real cool with our LED lanterns and cellphone flashlights. The worst part was no having fans on in our bedrooms because QUE CALOR DIOS MIO! The heat was too much even with the AC on--we had to drop the temp way low to feel comfortable but after awhile we'd be freezing. In other words: no fun. (My boss helped us this past weekend by letting us borrow her husbands' super long extension cords to prop box fans in the 2nd floor hallway.) Anyways... Crazy two weeks. Not horrible but not the best but also not out $22k either. Btw, for sure I'm Ms. Piggy and David is Kermit. Dorian is the character next to me and Peps would be right behind me. 😜
