Spoilers for hazbin hotel, it's a theory
we know Alistor has been gone for 7years, and it's mentioned that lilith has also been gone for 7 years, and we know that alistor had done some voodoo/satanic rituals in his life. So, what if one of those was selling his soul to lilith, allowing him to get a tremendous amount of power in hell once he died in exchange for him serving her. Lilith then left, and took Alistor with her. I think she may have left to find a way to kill the executioners and that's why Carmina killing one is a big deal, besides the parts of it never being done before. And since alistor knows it as well via the eggs, he can pass the info onto lilith somehow. Back to the point, lilith heard word of the hotel Charlie was starting and sent alistor back to keep and eye on her and report back any breakthroughs they achieve in redemption. This is 99% speculation on my end and I could be completely wrong. But it's my idea and how my brain put shit together

In 5 it's stated alistor is on a leash, and his soul is owned by someone else, if my theory holds true, then it's lilith holding his leash.
I'm still not sure why lilith even left to begin with, but I don't think it's to find a way to kill executioners, but it's the only thing I could think of. Probably gonna change that detail once I get a better idea
