1.) consistency!

what helped me improve was literally drawing once or twice a day, everyday in my sketchbook for like 9 months and even though i’ve been drawing all my life, i feel like i saw the most important in both technical skill and my style!

ex the first one is from january and the 2nd from yesterday (maybe not the best example but wtver😭)

2.) PRACTICE THE FUNDAMENTALS!!!

this is especially super important if you want to take art super seriously. there’s tons of videos i’m sure you can find of people explaining this stuff. i think the most important for me was understanding facial structure, color theory(kinda), composition, and anatomy (which i still need practice in lol)

3.) ur style will come naturally

obviously you can study other artists and i think that’s super important to like pull features of art that inspire you to build your own unique style, but at the same time after you draw for a while you kinda just automatically like draw like that IDK LOLLLL

if it helps at all my biggest inspos are like old french painters, drathym, lipgloss3ater, bianca1207, and prykations

4.) and of course HAVE FUNNNNN

draw what makes you happy and use what materials make you happy (but also try and step out your comfort zone sometimes) cuz it’s really easy to get burnt out if you get frustrated with feeling like your art “isn’t good enough”

5.) oh ya and use references but at the same time don’t rely souly on them
