When morning comes, everything hurts.

He Tian hasn’t slept for most of the night and he can tell Guan Shan hasn’t either by how often he stirred and twitched. Still, he stayed close. He took He Tian’s hand and held it to his chest. His grip has loosened now, which hopefully means he has fallen asleep. Which means it’ll be easy for He Tian to slip out, to leave discreetly, just like he agreed to. 

It’s anything but easy when he does it. He leaves the bed while keeping Guan Shan warm under the covers and it hurts terribly. Everywhere. His head, his eyes, his back, his heart ache – but the sun has already been up for too long for him to keep stalling. 

He Tian allows himself a final touch, a few kisses that he presses into Guan Shan’s shoulder before he gets out of the bedroom."
