♕ ┅ It was so nice to hear Seokjae stutter for some reason - it showed he was more human than Eseo originally thought. Maybe nobody was perfect, but it was so cliche when he said that he was perfect for him. Eseo ran his hand down his arm and tugged at the sleeve of his shirt. He had no reason to except to play with something of Seokjae’s for the hell of it.
But Seokjae let him. Oh, Eseo knew that he could probably do anything and Seokjae would let him –
– at least until he mentioned drinking.
Now Eseo rarely drank but that did not mean he never did. In fact, he really only drank with Hyukjae. A soft hum came from his tightly pursed lips as he said, “Don’t worry… no, I don’t really drink much.”
That much was all that really mattered, though, but Eseo barely thought of it. His finger pressed to his chest while he traced the pattern of the fabric of Seokjae’s shirt. “You don’t have to be sorry for complaining. I like hearing about you - it’s nice to learn more about you because it reminds me that… that there is always something new to look forward to with you.”
He closed his eyes and pressed his head to his chest. “I bet there’s stuff you don’t know about me, but I remember everything about you.”
Eseo picked his head up and planted a desperate kiss on his lips. When he pulled away, he smiled and then leaned back in, the second kiss lingering for longer than the last. Eseo pulled away once more but his lips stayed close as he asked, “Uh, but why don’t you like drinking?”
TW; DRINKING MENTIONS
At the other’s words, Seokjae immediately felt a pang of guilt in his chest, not wanting to make it seem like he was shaming the other for anything. If Eseo wanted to drink, or anything like that for that matter, he should be able to with no second thought. The last thing Seokjae wanted to do was hold him back.
Blushing was inevitable as the other ran his fingers across his shirt, Seokjae still being amazed by any sort of physical contact with the dark-haired chef. “Thank you Eung Seok...” He started. “Most people don’t like learning about me, I guess. I’m surprised you do. You’re actually willing to learn about somebody like me...” The florist slowly ran his fingers through Eseo’s soft hair once again, wondering if this was a dream once again. It had to be, right? Eseo was way too good to be here with him. And maybe it was a dream, in a way. Eseo could always leave. Nothing was permanent.
Whenever the other spoke again, Seokjae nodded. “Yes, maybe that’s true. But I want to know everything about you, from head to toe and your brain and your heart and just everything. Because you are my sunshine, my poet, and you’re just so fucking intriguing.” He whispered softly. “You’re so interesting, Eung Seok...” The redhead looked into his dark eyes for a moment, rubbing his shoulder softly.
The sudden kiss took him by surprise, but it wasn’t bad in any way. He accepted it, slightly kissing back and continuing to card his fingers through Eseo’s hair. When the other pulled away, he was tempted to kiss him again, adoring the contact with him. Seokjae wanted to stay like that forever, with his boyfriend so close, everything seeming perfect.
But as mentioned previously, nothing is permanent, and Eseo’s question made Seokjae’s heart sink into his stomach. You’d think it would be such a simple question, answered by a few words and soon forgotten about, but for Seokjae, it was so much more. It was an inquiry that brought back a plethora of memories of his birthday and events beforehand.
“I-I..” Seokjae started, feeling a bit nauseous. “I’ve only ever drunk once...” He looked at his fingers, stalling the question a bit before realizing it was unfair to Eseo, who just wanted an answer “It was my most recent birthday, actually... And, well, my birthday is on Christmas day, December twenty-fifth.” Seokjae laughed, but it quickly dissipated into the air, tension crowding in Seokjae’s lungs. “Even when I was younger, people were more worried about Christmas than my birthday, really. But, um... Last year, it was after I came out as gay, and my parents wanted nothing to do with me at that point... I really didn’t have any friends or a roommate, so I found myself alone on my twenty-second birthday.” He sighed, looking up at the ceiling, trying to find anything to focus on, not wanting to see his boyfriend’s face as he continued with his story.
“So, I started drinking, because I thought why the fuck not? It’s legal, I’m of age, and I have nothing else to do. So here I am, drinking and watching Christmas movies, trying to call my parents who wouldn’t pick up, and I just... Passed out. I don’t even know how much I drank, but it was so much... I didn’t wake up until late the next day, sick as a dog and vomiting. I could’ve died, Eung Seok. And I doubt anybody would’ve noticed. I got no happy birthdays, nobody checking on me, anything...”
It was a hard fact to deal with. That he could’ve drunk himself to death and nobody would care or notice. He felt his eyes stinging, and he suddenly got embarrassed, turning away even more and not wanting the other to see him cry, his chest contracting in shallow breaths, his body trembling. “I- Sorry...” He whispered as he looked at the carpeted ground, knowing he appeared so fucking weak in front of the other.

♕ ┅ Feeling Seokjae’s fingers in his hair, the dark haired boy sighed. It was just so comforting to be back around him again. There was never anything better than cuddling with Seokjae, especially after a week filled with work work work. He barely cared about the movie that was on and he assumed the feeling was mutual with Seokjae. Instead, they were going to be focusing on each other.
And they did. The feel of his lips on his skin, his fingers twirling his hair… and Seokjae’s sweet words, you’re adorable, ringing through his ears. Eseo felt so gentle tonight, like a wave had rushed over him that told him to never move from his position against Seokjae’s heartbeat. “You’re pretty good looking, too, Seokie,” he mumbled back.
He could have fallen asleep on him, but Eseo did not want to. He wanted to stay up all night with him and talk to him. Somehow, every conversation with Seokjae turned into a passionate one and he loved it. Maybe tonight would be the same… Eseo kind of hoped so.
“Seokie,” he cooed like a child, his hand pressing to his thigh to hold. “You know you’re, like, perfect, right? I dunno, some kind of perfect… at least for me. Do you promise to never change, no matter what your head tells you to do?”
Admittedly, it was often difficult for Seokjae to feel contented. It seemed like, at any given time, there was stress swirling around his head, suffocating him. His mind was constantly racing with thoughts and feelings, and not always pleasant ones. Even just lying down in bed at his apartment, trying to fall asleep, he thought about not having anybody else, about how nobody cared about how he was, about how he was so weak alone.
But here, with Eseo, things felt right, and he felt contented. Seokjae had somebody, and he was everything that he could’ve wanted and more. The redhead had always dreamed of something like this, but lately, he’d been starting to think it was unrealistic. Now, he was here with his boyfriend, in his place, watching a movie.
Seokjae figured that Eseo must’ve been tired, and it was quite endearing, at least to him, that he was willing to stay up just to talk to him. That he found Seokjae interesting enough to fight off his tiredness for. Maybe he wasn’t tired, but Seokjae swore he saw exhaustion in his dark eyes.
At the other words, the florist couldn’t help but to tense up, not expecting such a heartfelt and sincere compliment with no segue. “Eu-Eung Seok...” The redhead smiled a little, ruffling the other’s locks. “Thank you. I’m not perfect... But thank you. I-I’ll try not to change.”
As the movie played on, Seokjae paid a little bit of attention, noticing a few young adults drinking on the screen, causing him to scrunch up his nose and wince. “I hate when people drink... I mean, I know it’s their choice and it isn’t always bed, but I just... Don’t like it at all.” He sighed, looking at Eseo, “Ah, sorry for complaining.” He shook his head.
Drinking brought back bad memories for Seokjae. It reminded him of almost drinking himself to death the night of his birthday after feeling particularly worthless and alone. Maybe it was him being overly sensitive, but some things were just better blocked out.

with fingers pressed against the flower petals, the furrow of ahseung’s brows deepened, the crease against his skin too telling of the thoughts running through his mind. there is strict focus in his movements as he slowly walks along the row of flowers before him; a hand reaches out once, twice in passing before it falls back to his side. indecision is written across his face, and it’s an irritating habit he wishes he could be rid of at his age.
muffling a sigh, he runs a hand over his face and looks over the flowers again, finally plucking a four random flowers before approaching the counter.
“ah, i was wondering…” he begins, pausing to collect his thoughts less he sound like a fool, “would these — look okay, i guess, to give to somebody who recently lost somebody important to them?”
he looks confused, seokjae thought as he watched the man examining the flora spread around the small shop, his hand reaching out to touch the flowers. it wasn’t an uncommon sight for the florist at this point, for customers to be in a question about what to buy for different occasions. the right things for somebody, especially if they were being given to somebody else, needed to be special. as he was considering helping the other, he saw him picking flowers.
examining the flowers, he thought about the other’s words. now, honestly, seokjae couldn’t see the color of the roses. at all. so he had no idea of it did or not. was it pink? lavender? he knew it was a lighter color, but he was completely clueless about which color.
“i, um, black or dark red roses add the best ones to get for a situation like that,” seokjae informed him, dancing around the question at hand. “but, if we’re being completely honest here, most people don’t really know the meanings of flowers, so you could probably just get them anything and have it be fine.” the redhead shrugged, hoping he’d avoided saying the color of the flower.

✿ The model had a lot of hobbies. One of them was gardening, although he was horrific with plants. He isn’t quite sure how he thought it might be a good idea to bother learning either. Luckily he found a soul kind and patient enough to teach him once a week. Junsu always left space in his schedule to try and save his tomato plant with Seokjae. The gentle giant, in Junsu’s eyes, always managed to bring some life back to the plant.
Junsu was waiting patiently for Seokjae to arrive. As always he was excited to spend time working with plants. Except he was more eager for human interaction. It was a rare day off, but he had spent it inside binge watching dramas. At the moment he was scrolling through Instagram while perched on his kitchen counter.
A knock caught his attention so he jumped off the counter and strode over to the door. He unlocked the door and smiled at the man on the other side. “Hey, the plant survived this week. Do I get points for effort?” Junsu stepped away to let Seokjae into his apartment. The tomato plant was proudly on display out on the balcony. “Do you want anything to drink before we get started?”
Seokjae tucked his hands into the pockets of his jeans, walking on the sidewalk, admiring the clouds hanging in the blue sky, merging with each other into different shapes and sizes, the wind blowing emerald green leaves down to the ground. Nature is beautiful, isn’t it? The redhead thought as he walked along.
Gardening jobs were something he was somewhat used to at that point. His specialty was bouquet arrangement and event planning, but he had skill in all of it, so here he was, strolling to somebody’s house to help somebody with gardening basics. Gardening, at least to Seokjae, wasn’t as hard as it was easy to mess up, so he figured he could he give the man some tips.
As the other opened the door and talked, Seokjae nodded, smiling back at the energetic personality. “Yes, you get points for effort.” He laughed softly, walking in and seeing the tomato plant. “Ah, so I’m guessing that’s the plant in question?” The redhead shook his head, “Oh no, I’m fine, thank you, though.”
the whole outcome had be rather foggy at the moment, though he managed to come up with the outlines of the whole portrait—tossing around a few ideas here and there, recalling the past—in attempt to summon their liking into the registers of his memory. it served likelihood as it presented of fundamentalism, with him concluded being a lawyer near the future; memorization played a crucial fact to the current situation. his memory had served him justice all this time.
soohyuk was now on the quest of producing the perfect bouquet for them and seeing the progress was from there onward. if it came to their liking, he was sure to visit the shop again. a few things popped here and there until the florist inquired, which resulted him to shift the gaze from the decorations to him, as he couldn’t help but to smile towards the other. verily, he got along with his family members very well. it laid a certain amount of actuality to it. apart from the relationship he shared with the president himself. “i appreciate what you’re saying, but i do try my best since i don’t really see them quite often,” true, they were one family that lived under one roof, only the circumstances differed. there were a few times that they even missed seeing one another, and when they were reunited, it was probably for breakfast or a few events and so forth. that was why he reverted to displaying his form of affection whenever he was given time for it.
be it small, nor an extravagant one—there is nothing more important other than family and he chose to abide by it and seeing that the wonders of coming up with the final product altogether, the smile on his face never left. feeling rather thrilled of the result and when it was finally done, he felt albeit proud. not that he was doing all the work, it was for the fact that it was just beautiful and for picking the right ensemble for it. “i do…?” as his voice trailed off, before coming back with another set of statements. “no, that’s you work. not mine, i just gave you ideas for it,” this time, the taller grabbed a pastel coloured decoration and handed it. “it’s nothing really, all i did was think of the things they liked and you’re the one with magic. i mean, my hands don’t have that touch like yours,”
nodding, seokjae spoke, “hey, it’s okay to not see them a lot. it’s just good to even have some connection to them, you know? and just... i don’t know.., i think too much about things that aren’t necessarily important or relevant to the conversation, so just ignore me.” the florist let out a soft laugh, glancing out the window, noticing the dull gray clouds hanging in the sky, implying that rain was coming to the city. “ah, i hope you have a form of transportation home...” he mused, looking at the customer. “i think it’s getting ready to rain.” he smiled.
arranging the decorations, he thought for a second, moving a few things around and smiling at the finished product, that he bet looked even more beautiful in person. okay, maybe that sounded arrogant to say, as he made it, but the customer helped as well, so maybe it wasn’t that self-centered? “it looks nice...” he smiled, running his fingers softly over the vibrant petals, admiring the details of them, even if the lines blurred into each other somewhat.
listening to the other, the redhead shrugged, “i think you have something quite creative inside of you, actually. i probably sound like some freak, don’t i?” he laughed, scratching the back of his neck. “i analyze things and people way too much, and i can see where it would creep people out, especially somebody not that close to me.” seokjae looked around the shop, letting out a soft sigh, “really, something this beautiful isn’t just about the flowers though. it’s about the love you have for your family, and your willingness to know things about them and make sure to give them things they’ll like. i just know what to put together, really.”

♕ ┅ Eseo smiled. “You don’t have to be sorry, I can cook anything if you ask me too so I think you are the lucky one,” he joked. But it was not long after Seokjae that he finished his own food and he gathered both of the plates. Seokjae had his head on Eseo’s shoulder which begged the question: Should he move?
Sometimes Eseo was unsure of whether he was Seokjae’s child or his boyfriend, but he did not mind either way. He put on a grin and leaned into the kiss on the cheek. “I’m going to get these in the sink and then I’ll be right back,” he said, taking the plates with him as he stood up to go put them away. It took him less than five minutes to do so and he was back with the little tables on the floor and himself back in bed with his boyfriend.
He wasted no time wrapping his arms around Seokjae and snuggling into his chest. If Eseo was warm, then Seokjae had to be burning hot, because there was so much comfort in the way he was lying on him right now. “You’re warm too,” he mumbled.
But the two of them were planning to watch a movie - which one, they had not decided - and so Eseo let his boyfriend go for a moment to put on Netflix and ask Seokjae to choose something. While he chose, the younger boy dove back into his snuggle against the older one and closed his eyes contently. “Pick whatever you want, I don’t mind.”
Seokjae looked over, nodding as the other got up, immediately missing the warmth of the other male. He checked his phone, seeing a text from his father, saying hello. He sighed, he only got texts from his parents one in a blue moon, and of all times to receive one, it had to be now? The redhead placed his phone back on the bedside table, deciding ignoring it would be the best. Eung Seok was what he wanted to focus on.
Whenever the other snuggled into his chest, he smiled softly, leaning down and planting a soft kiss to the other’s head, ruffling his hair, thinking about how soft it was. Was that a weird thing to think about? Probably so, but maybe it just came from his habit of truly wanting to admire and appreciate every single part of Eseo, inside and out.
Without thinking much, he just chose a movie. Honestly, he didn’t watch movies much, and he figured he’d be paying a lot more attention to Eseo over any movie. He set down the remote, shrugging. “I just kind of chose something random.” The florist chuckled.
As the movie started, Seokjae carded his fingers through Eseo’s hair, enjoying the warmth the other was transferring. He looked down, smiling, “You’re so adorable, Eung Seok...” Seokjae whispered, continuing to play with his hair.
