Dewey and Launcpad thinking they’re keeping Drakes secret is adorable.

I was actually really sad when I realized Bulba was going to be the bad guy. I freaked when I first saw him, and then I saw his interactions with the kids and Scrooge. He’s so nice. Also look at him holding Huey and Louie, they’re so tiny!

I freaked when I saw the tower! Drakes entrance had me reeling! And they brought back the Ratcatcher! Launchpad you’re better make the Thunderquack again!

Also this is Launchpad’s reaction when he first sees Drake. I don’t care about “Uncle Launchpad,” They are dating and you can’t change my mind!

Also waffle hands. Lol

Dewey fanboying just as much as Launchpad! Also how he goes straight for the smokebombs! That’s a freaking Randy Cunningham reference!

I love that Fenton made Drakes gear. You can tell Drake likes him. I cannot wait to see his reaction to finding out he’s Gizmoduck.

Also I love W.A.N.D.A. I can see her and Uno being friends. I’m still holding onto that. I want some Duck Avenger!

That white suit looks familiar. Original Negaduck reference? Perhaps.

Is there seriously no Negaduck in this episode though!? Not even a glance at the Negaverse through the Ramrod!

Scrooge not knowing Drake. Seriously dude you borrowed his suit, and his quip. He got beat up for you!

Drake humoring Dewey by being on his show is amazing. Just Drakes interactions with Dewey!

I love Gosalyn, I love Drake, I love all their interactions.

Drake freaking out, and rightfully so. The worst threat he probably faced before the moonlanders was Beagle Boys.

“Quackerjack. A clown. Bushroot. A house plant. Liquidator. A cup of water. Megavolt. Yikes.” Seriously Megs gets the yikes, he’s a glorified toaster. If any of them get the yikes it’s Quackerjack.

I will say though I am salty about ‘Uncle Launchpad,’ Cmon people let us have our Drakepad! There was so much shipping fuel in this episode!

“Supervillain located in the abandoned toy warehouse district. There’s an entire district for that?”

You’re seriously picking Quackerjack to go up against? Go to Bushroot. He’s so easy to manipulate, and you pick Quackerjack?

Liquidator feels off. I don’t know if it’s the voice, or the new design. It just doesn’t feel like him.

No one knowing what Dewey’s charades mean. Also his little naruto run!

Dewey knowing exactly who Bushroot is and still goofing off. The root system is pretty cool.

You think the villains would realize this isn’t their Darkwing. Maybe they just don’t care.

Jambalaya Jake and the bug Master? Launchpad there are so many other villains, you could have at least picked some good ones!

Bushroot with a vine, snake tail thing and surfing on vines. I love all the new abilities he’s getting.

Why doesn’t he talk? Seriously Gosalyn shot him with an arrow and he squeaked.

Launchpad throwing Megavolt! I am so convinced he has some sort of indestructibility and a bit of super strength.

“You’re an actor and a Launchpad, how are you gonna stop four supervillains”

“Well technically Bushroot isn’t really a villain, per say.”

“That’s right, I keep forgetting you’re nerds!”

Thank you for saying this! Bushroot is an Antihero if anything. We don’t really see any of his personality here though. He’s almost an entirely different character.

“Let’s get dangerous!”

Thorns! Those are new! Drake just got stabbed! I really hope he has some sort of protection under the jacket.

“This is just like episode 3!”

“Beauty and the beet! We could really use an episode 21 right now!”

“Just us Justice Ducks! Underrated crossover episode.”

These are actual episodes and they’re geeking out about them while fighting Liquidator!

Drake lassoing Megavolt while still in Liquidators grip. You knew that was going to hurt. Also Launchpad trapping him under a trashcan.

Gosalyn’s sacrifice to save everyone is fantastic. All this started because she wanted to get her grandpa back. The fact that she was willing to give that up, especially because she’s so young, is amazing.

And the villains are gone. That sucks. At least we sort of got them for one episode. They needed more screen time though.

“Gizmoduck saved the day!” You shut up! He was on the sidelines! We didn’t even see him actually beat Bushroot. Who knows he might have just retreated. All Giz did was cut the vines.

I love how Launchpad just scoops up Drake and Gosalyn. Like I don’t care that Drake hasn’t technically adopted Gosalyn yet. He and Launchpad are her dads.

But Launchpad please plan a little more. You need some sleep to.

My overall reaction of this episode is very positive.

I freaking love that they brought back Michael Bell as Quackerjack! A little upset though that all Banana Brain got was a cameo.

My one complaint is Liquidator and Bushroot really weren’t acting like themselves.

I’m not sure how much I like their new designs. Liquidator is a bit to bulky for my taste, and no offense to Keith Ferguson but he just couldn’t nail that ‘salesman’ voice like Jack Angel. He was great at Megavolt though.

But what was going on with Bushroot? Dewey stated in the episode that he’s a brilliant scientist. Drake and Launchpad pointed out that he wasn’t a villain.

Like I’m not opposed to him being mute like some people have suggested. I think that would actually be a really cool idea.

He really looks and acts like a husk though. He looks to much like his form from Twin Beaks for me. His foliage is practically grey when it should be a bright green. His petals are faded and drooping around his face. And his eyes. They’re pure white when he should still have the blue eyes of his non mutant form.

I understand taking artistic liberties but they completely changed him. I also understand not getting a new voice actor, to honor Tino Insana, but Bushroot could have at least acted like himself. This version felt more like Spike than Reggie.

Besides that though I loved the special! I can’t wait to see more Darkwing Duck episodes.

It’s Bushroot!

My favorite of the Fearsome Four, and the only Anti hero of the group.

Liquidator, Megavolt, and Qauckerjack were all clearly villains, but not Bushroot.

Unlike the other villains of the show Bushroot is driven by his emotions. The sadism, sociopathy, greed, or insanity of the other villains just isn’t like him. Bushroot is usually driven by loneliness, or his fear of Negaduck.

Really though Reginald just wanted companionship, and did crimes for what he believed were good reasons. Except for what happened in his origin story.

Heck in the Twin Beaks episode Bushroot actively worked with Launchpad and Darkwing to protect the entire planet.

“I’m not really sinister, just misunderstood.” Reginald Bushroot.

That being said though this does look like it’s going to be a part of the Halloween episode, so it may be just a prank. Like I’m really hoping he’s not just part of the haunted house. We got Drake and Negaduck back, I want to see some of the other villains to.
