Ever since I read the chapter of the fanfic The Lonely Bugs of Paris by @njtsuru where Chloé's Miraculous test is mentioned in the style of a fashion show, I obviously wanted to do an illustration showcasing how fabulous she would look in various styles (she looks like a poodle hahaha) + Marinette's reactions (That are mentioned in that particular chapter).

The fanfic is really good! A Slowburn chloenette that makes me feel like just a girl again, hehe <3

Do I like romance? Ofc (I'm just a girl), but I also love drawing, so... I made this illustration inspired by VIVIZ’s "MANIAC" (I’ve had this image in my head for a year now). In it, I portray a toxic, obsessive, and irrational relationship within a tragic, broken, yet beautiful setting.

For this piece, I used a mix of mediums: colored pencils, alcohol markers, acrylic pens and markers, and soft pastels.

At first glance, it presents two realities: conflict and dependency.

Rule of Thirds: The focal points are both characters (neither steals the spotlight from the other). The girl knows the illusion of their relationship has shattered (seen in the mirror's reflection), while the boy is unable to see how fractured it has truly become.

Triangular Composition: A zero-sum game where no one wins or loses; they just remain trapped in the cycle. She looks exhausted, no longer wanting to continue; he wants to keep her (the chains) and refuses to let her go.

On one hand, the roses represent their conflicts, and on the other, the thorns—shown in the boy's tattoo—reveal his capacity to hurt through control. Interestingly, in the mirror's reflection, those thorns are absent.

Leading Lines: These guide the eye along the red string of fate (which breaks right at a rose—conflict). Meanwhile, the chain represents his desire for control, yet you can notice it has loosened and is slipping down her arm.

Broken Symmetry Axis: Contrast and conflict. The desired relationship does not match reality.

Honestly I really liked Chloe and Marinettes dynamic in the Movie. By the end they were more rivals then bully and victim and I lowkey like that dynamic between them better

(Also why the fuck does it look like they’re about to kiss every time they interact like goddamn get a room)

I was scrolling through Facebook, saw a post that caught my attention, checked the comments... and suddenly wild comment appeared

I already blew off steam and ranted plenty after watching it, and to summarise..

This is Derision levels of hypocrisy - being an abuse victim is no excuse for bullying, but stalking and obsessiveness are excused by trauma; refusing to let go and move one from your old enemies is petty and a sign of a weak, angry person, but the shows creator can dedicate at least one episode per shows season, to shit on his least favourite character and target a fanbase surrounding her FOR YEARS after her character assassination in canon

I liked Sabrina confronting her abuser and moving on, but it had to be ruined by Marinettes edgy aah laughter and corny zingers in response - you’re NOT taugh, lil bro😭✌️

You could physically see the writing quality taking a deep for this particular episode, which happens every time Thomas pushes his own agenda no matter what

This is JUST a season 5 Chloe ark rehash - this episode serves NO PURPOSE outside those few Lila and Noe involving scenes

Im not even that huge of a fan of Chloe, but this pettiness makes me want to be one with intensity out of pure spite. You’ll never make me hate her, Astruc - how about you touch some grass instead of arguing with your fanbase on Twitter 24/7

Ever since I started reading The Lonely Bugs of Paris, and since AO3 doesn’t really let you add covers, I’ve had this image in my head for a while now ✨ so I finally made it during spring break (acrylic markers + colored pencils). It took me a little over 10 hours and like 3 different colored pencil brands, but i had a lot of fun drawing it 🎨🥰

Hope the author likes it and feels like it actually captures the vibe of his fic (@njtsuru)

Anyway, I used a golden spiral for the composition to give it a bit of storytelling: they look kinda far apart, but their hands are still linked, hinting at how things will develop chapter by chapter. Also, notice how Marinette’s hand is on top (there’s a reason for that based on how the slow burn plays out).

It took me longer than I thought (because of waiting for my drawing materials), but I couldn't leave without drawing Chloé as Diamond Queen.

That's how I imagined her from her description in a fanfic that's captivated me these past few months (The lonely Bugs of Paris). And the unintentional kabedon, haha.
