Serene Ferocity

I always go full crossdresser for goth nights and Halloween and I'm looking for a new Gothic Lolita or witchy kind of dress. Does anyone on here have any suggestions of where I could find one?

Alright, I have been to my fair share of cons, I’ve been in my fair share of fandoms, and I’ve made friends with people from a lot of different fandoms and one thing that always pisses me off, regardless of whatever it is you do at a convention, is when people will continuously invade space and disregard the necessity of acceptable behaviors while at a a con, BECAUSE they are at a con.  Like look, I get it, the Convention is a “safe place” for whatever the reason it is you’re going there, but understand there is still a world around you that has NOTHING to do with why you are there, and there is still a level of respect you have to give other people at the same convention.  Not everyone thinks along the same lines, and if there is someone who does not want to pose for you, or does not want you crawling all over them because of their outfit, or if someone doesn’t get your jokes on some vague moment in whatever fandom you’re toting, it does not give you a right to bother them.  Some people honestly just go for a dealers room or panels, not everyone goes to talk to you.  I’m not talking about what people do in their hotel rooms.  Behind closed doors, as long as you’re keeping things legal and consensual then that’s on you.  But I am at the convention itself.  Do not touch people without asking.  Do not take photos of people who don’t want their picture taken.  Don’t fucking just start rambling about your relation to someone else’s likes and interests for hours on end, and if they want to end the conversation don’t get butthurt.  There needs to be a respect of space and comfort for everyone at the convention.  Always ask first.  But another thing, that I really think people need to grasp is this.  The world around you is going to judge you and that is OK.  Pretty weird thing to say right? Everyone judges each other, that is a fact of human nature.  For example, when you see a pale skinned girl wearing a North Face jacket who listen to Taylor Swift while holding a Starbucks coffee, the immediate thought of almost anybody at a con is “what a basic person.” That is judge mental. But that’s fine if you just keep it to yourself, or even your friends.  That person is not hurting anyone and neither are you.  Chances are if said person sees you in a cosplay, she will think “oh shit it’s already Halloween” or something, but that’s pretty judge mental of me to say.  Maybe she loves anime, I don’t know, but hypothetical girl in question is not the point here.  EVEN IF you spend two hours reciting the plot to Ruroni Kenshin to someone, more times than not the walk away thinking “I have no idea what I just heard.”  But why is that bad?  It’s not.  Not everyone gets it, and not everyone is going to, and that is ok.  Basically think this, people can stop and stare all they want, they can whisper all they want, because you are not there to try and impress them. You are there for you.  So just remember to enjoy yourself, respect your fellow congoers, and understand that even if someone likes the same things you do, they may not think of it in the same way.  Just please, be respectful of cosplayers and fans attending the con, you are all there for a similar purpose, but you are not all the same person.
