Leave Your Shoes At The Door

Being sober is awesome (as compared to experience of substance abuser). First off, there are canned mock-tails at the health food store down the road, I had a booze free mojito with my dumplings the other day and it tasted pure and shimmery as a bead of water. Also, even better, I’ve become a joyful reader again :~)

And I’ve taken up swimming lessons Last week at the end of class we all jumped into the deep end, perfect strangers becoming funny babies in that minute all together  Then I went home through the winter dark to read 

Empathy and understanding. I remember what it’s like when I was a child, I remind myself what it feels like to not have any control over my own life while being expected to follow rules that no one has taken the time to explain. I imagine how frustrating it must be to have limited methods of self expression and emotional release. I imagine how disappointing it is to feel as though no one pays attention to you unless you are being ‘bad.’
