“Would you still love me if I was a worm?”
Robert, one brow raised, looked back from where he was lying across his boyfriend’s lap on the couch, practically folded over the larger man’s legs. “Oh yeah,” Robert answered, voice dripping with his deadpanned sarcasm. “I’d love you so much. We’d go on a walk outside and a long vacation to a patch of dirt, and then I’d bury you because not only do worms belong in the dirt, but they only live for like two days,” he remarked, rolling his eyes and turning back around to look at his phone.
Flambae put his own phone down on Robert’s legs, crossing his arms over his chest and staring at the back of Robert’s head. “Worms live for like… two years, bitch,” Flambae corrected, his accented voice carrying his own flamboyant flavor of sass.
Robert turned back around, furrowed brows and tiny smirk on display. “Why do you know that?”
Flambae scoffed, throwing his arms out to the side dramatically. “You really wouldn’t love me if I was a worm?” he asked instead of answering, squinting at his boyfriend.
“No, I love you,” Robert replied, turning back around to lay his head against his arms that were folded against the couch cushions. “You wouldn’t be you if you were a worm,” he continued, voice slightly muffled.
“No, but like,” Flambae started again, gesturing his hands forward like an angry Italian man. “I got turned into a worm. It’s still me, I’m just a worm now.”
Robert turned back once again, expression perfectly neutral. “Then I’d cut you in half and feed you to Sonar to put you out of your misery,” he replied with a squint, laughing as Flambae hit him in the side of the head.
“You bitch! You’d feed me to batboner?” he asked incredulously, expression one of betrayal.
“You’d be a worm Flambae! They can’t think! You wouldn’t love me either!” Robert retorted dramatically with a smile, shrugging his shoulder as a way of gesturing.
“You wouldn’t even try to turn me back? You’d just fucking kill me?” Flambae asked, still loud and dramatic. Robert laughed.
“Okay, wait. In this hypothetical situation where you, somehow, got turned into a worm, if I could turn you back, I obviously wouldn’t kill you,” Robert amended, causing Flambae to cross his arms with a victorious smirk. “But I wouldn’t love you as a worm, either! I’d love you as a human who just so happened to be a worm at the moment!”
“So you would still love me!” Flambae shouted, smug and victorious. Robert laughed.
“Not as a worm! I’d only love you if I could turn you back,” Robert said, schooling his expressing. He turned slightly back away from Flambae before continuing smugly. “If I couldn’t, then I’d just kill you. Maybe go fishing.”
Flambae gasped, too dramatically to be real shock, even for him. “You bitch!” he said with a laugh, uncrossing his arms and bringing his hands down to hold Robert’s waist, squeezing.
“Gah- NO!” Robert shouted, laughing as he tried to roll away from much larger man tickling him.
Flambae laughed, sliding Robert from his lap so he could move over him instead, pinning him with his thighs as he continued his attack.
After a few minutes, once Robert stopped trying to fight it and all he could do was sit there and laugh as tears fell down his cheeks, Flambae’s hands stilled, and the warmer of the two leaned down to lay on top of the other. He placed a kiss below Robert’s ear, still holding his waist protectively. “I love you, ātashé delam,” Flambae whispered, nuzzling his nose into the side of Robert’s neck.
“I love you too,” Robert replied with a weak voice, out of breath. He was still shaking from how hard he’d been laughing. “Just not if you were a worm.”
