Japan had a fair share of beaches that ran along the coast of the collection of islands, Okinawa and Tokyo holding some of the nicest beaches in the country but there was something different about Los Angeles. Perhaps it was due to the fact that Kuroko was still working to adjust himself to the usage of English instead of Japanese, the lack of gestures from his home country as well as inclusion of customs and nature that differed. Regardless still, Kuroko couldn’t help the excitement bubbling up in his chest from simply being here with Kagami; it had been a trip that was a long time in planning and executing it always seemed so far away until now. “I can certainly understand the fanfare now that we’re here, it’s a really beautiful beach.”

With the mention of attempting surfing though, Kuroko’s head dipped down slightly as Kagami carded through powder blue locks, small smile tugging over his lips whilst the boy nodded the best he could like this. “Of course, was there another reason that I wanted you to take us to the beach?” Kuroko mildly joked in return, watching Kagami ride those waves during club trips and other outings had brought up a spark within cerulean hues; even if the surfing board looked a lot larger than he had previously thought up close. “Then, I leave myself in your capable hands… Kagami-sensei.”

"Yeah, but the ones in Japan ain't so bad either. Not like you're gonna find any soba noodles 'round here," Kagami lamented as he pulled off his shirt. If there was one thing that was awesome about Japan, it was the unique cuisine. But America was a melting pot of all sorts of different foods and cultures, so there was a lot he could still get here, though it wasn’t always the easiest of things to find somewhere authentic outside of cooking it himself. "The waves here on the west coast could kick Japan's waves' ass in a second, though." There was a reason California was the most popular place in the world to catch a good wave, after all.

             Atsushi hated his life. Not really, but why did he have to fail English? He knew he should have studied, but how could he have imagined the exam would be that hard?! Now, he had to subject himself to the humiliation of being tutored by Kagami Taiga - something Murasakibara thought it was completely unnecessary, because Himuro also knew English and could very well tutor him. He was being punished by the elder, that was it, Atsushi was sure of that. So now, he found himself in front of Kagami’s flat, with his backpack by his side.

            Sighing, the purple haired boy knocked on the door and waiting, already thinking about the headache he expected to have by the end of this study session.

“Murasakibara? What the hell? Go bug Tatsuya about this crap.” Kagami muttered, looking somewhat irritated and deadpan at having the massive basketball player standing in front of his doorway. Seriously, why was this his problem...? At that moment, Kagami’s phone went off--a message from Tatsuya himself. 

“Hey, Taiga,” it said. “Expect a surprise visitor today while my hands are tied with Alex. You’ll get along well for my sake, won’t you? --Tatsuya.”

          A chilly morning in the midst of mountains compelled to resort to any warming self activity after swift awakening, sliding from under cozy blankets and escaping so alluring embrace of a slumber. The captain of the Rakuzan basketball team was not the only one awake at that hour, as also Mibuchi lounged ‘bout, occasionally providing encouraging words to the redhead, yet declining the honor of accompanying him for a jog. Few hours remained prior to the specific appointment they went through some complications to settle, yet the results exceeded the expectation, as when he was ‘bout to return to rented rooms his path was crossed by unforeseen encounter. “—Good morning, Kagami-kun. And ‘bout that…” With a short pause to stabilize own breathing after running, he greeted the taller male, whose countenance obtained expression of pure bewilderment, and mayhap mixed with concealed vexation regarding such an unsought meeting. The repulsive impression of someone named Akashi Seijurouu would dwell within majority of people for longer, as his path of redemption had only just begun, all those committed sins should be atoned. Thus as it could appear bizarre at first, a friendly smile and expression emitting nothing but genuine kindness was offered along with his forthcoming explanation. “—I must apologize, but this sequence of events was pre planned. Rakuzan contacted your coach through me and we arranged a joint practice.”

          Even if for the power forward there had no actual reason to treat him anyhow different than a rival, that one vicious mastermind, who pushed so many people through inevitable and ineluctable course of events for incomprehensible purpose, that Akashi did not hold any hostility towards the power forward and would strive to compensate for any nuisance he endured before. However it did not mean that his life would be stripped of any challenges and trials, on the countrary, now he was even more eager to oppose the Phantom Sixth man and his team. “—You can’t possibly expect us to remain satisfied with the results of our last match. We will reclaim the first place next year. Nevertheless, the rest of my team wanted to face Seirin one more time, even if it won’t be an official game.”

"Ah... Seriously? Damn, the coach didn't tell us anything about Rakuzan bein' here! Tch, what's she planning..." Kagami had to wonder. The coach always had some crazy shit up here sleeve, so this was surely no different. Rakuzan, and the cold mountains... This was sure to be one of their most brutal training camps yet. "Well, whatever. Heh. Just thinkin' about getting to play against you guys has me all fired up! Doesn't matter if it's official or not, Seirin and I ain't gonna let you guys have a win on us no matter what! We’ve been practicing way too hard for that!" Kagami grinned. Defeating Rakuzan at the Winter Cup had been his proudest moment, after all. Kagami found it unfortunate that he hadn't had enough time to play basketball against the other Akashi, though--that was, the Akashi that Kuroko had originally befriended before he became cold and condescending, seeking nothing but victory no matter the cost. Rakuzan's teamwork had grown amazing in the final quarter of their game and Kagami definitely wanted more than just a sample size of that. Ah, but talking to Akashi familiarly like this was honestly still kind of odd for him. It was actually kind of hard to comprehend the idea of Akashi as being a regular guy who just likes to play basketball...

Aomine attempted to continue sleeping, but Kagami’s incessant complaining about ‘how messy he left the place’ and ‘jeez Aomine, you’re such a freeloader!’, kept him from doing so. He peeled his eyes open only enough to look at Kagami, his disgrunted look pretty amusing, especially first thing in the morning – or afternoon, Aomine wasn’t sure exactly what time it was. “Oi, you’re being loud, haven’t you ever heard of hospitality towards guests?” Aomine stretched his arms upward before propping himself up, his elbow pushed into the plus surface of Kagami’s couch.

“I got hungry, sometimes I like to have a little extra more snack after we have a one-on-one,” he shrugged, a yawn escaping his lips, his eyes watering slightly. “What’s that supposed to mean?!” What a rude way to be woken up, and only to be insulted on top of it all! “I was gonna clean it all up but then I fell asleep! Calm down already.” Aomine paused, looking at the empty snack wrappers. “Hey…you hungry? I could really go for some breakfast…”

"Bein' a guest doesn't give you an excuse to trash the place, asshole! Have a little more self-awareness at times like these!" Kagami huffed, throwing some trashbags over at the lazy piece of shit laying on his couch, who was acting just a bit too leisurely for Kagami's comfort. "The hell do you think it means?! All you do is leave messes for other people to clean up after! Look, I get it with the midnight cravings and all that, but eating half my food and leaving the leftovers all over the place's just way too excessive...!" he sighed, gathering empty bags of snacks and half-drinken bottles of soda to toss into some trashbags. "'Course I'm hungry, but there's no way in hell you're having a single bite of breakfast 'til you've finished helping clean your mess."

Upon grabbing some more trash from the coffee table and stuffing into a bag, Kagami managed to accidentally step on the remote control that had been apparently lost at some point last night, flipping on the television to show... Well, what else but porn? Fuck, had Aomine been snacking on all his food while watching porn in his apartment in the middle of the goddamn night?
