Comparing libraries to Microsoft sounds silly, but when you continue reading, it kinda makes sense?  They arenât exactly hard up but they are struggling to keep up with Apple (although, I think much of Appleâs rise to fame can be attributed to hipstersâŚyes, I own an Ipad.  I donât use the internet on my phoneâŚIâm going off topic).  Anywho, this got me to thinking about how can you digitize something that needs to be seen in person?  I donât want a digital version of the Taj Mahal?  or the catacombs of Paris?  or the Hope diamond?  I want to see it, not a digital version of it.  Although, I get the authorâs pointâŚlibraries have to get on equal footing as the Internet or die trying (no seriously, donât die)
