Tehran-based Newwavearchitecture is building a rock climbing gym in , that in itself resembles a huge boulder. The white cement of the building’s exterior, shaped with some of the same contours as the artificial climbing walls within, allows the building’s shell to become outdoor climbing routes while blending into the surrounding snow. As the first outpost of the Musée du Louvre outside France, Louvre Abu Dhabi by Jean Nouvel stands on the waterfront of Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island, a man-made island on the coast of the United Arab Emirates capital. The 180 meters in diameter double dome comprises a horizontal, perfectly radiating geometry; a randomly perforated woven material, providing shade punctuated by bursts of sun.
