Happy Pride Month

My final drawing of 2023, Ellen Ripley and Jonesy from Alien for my fanart poll! This was a challenging drawing, and I must have re-drawn Ripley’s face about 10 times lol, so I’m glad I saw it through. The jumpsuit was also difficult. Years ago I couldn’t get into a figure drawing class where all the models wore street clothes (I can’t recall the exact title of the class) because it was full, so the instructor (the fantastic Karl Gnass, please look his work up if you haven’t!) let me sit in on a session or two. I was reminded of this class while I struggled to draw the jumpsuit and the shoes, so there may be me taking some classes this upcoming year if I can find any available. I also plan on re-reading Karl Gnass’ Headshots book from his head drawing class I took in 2018. 2024 may see me going back to the basics for a while, lol!
