In the egg au, does the crew (including Green and Orange) end up hiding the existence of the little hybrids from MIRA? I really can't see a single way in which MIRA finding out about them goes well, so does the crew decide the best thing to do is hide them?
As you can probably imagine everyone has a different idea on what to do, or how to protect these babies moving forward
Orange thinks that maybe if they just hide the hybrid traits for the rest of their entire lives they could still have fulfilling lives inside Mira but you can see that that reasoning is very shaky and one slip up is all itāll take to have things crumble down.
Green wants to nurture the babies hunting instincts so that they could live in the wild reasonably well. That way Mira wonāt be able to track them down and they wouldnāt have to pretend for anyone but themselves. They are argue that it would be the safest option for everyone
Some of the crewmates think that going into hiding might work, if some of them pretended to have āgone missingā due to the imposters that Mira had placed on the ship theres a real chance that they wouldnt come looking for them- obviously some crew donāt want to abandon their old lives completely, itās hard to realize that you placed yourself into a situation ment to get you killed. They argue what you do ( hide the babies until they can figure something out)
Idea for an enemy based on some great healthcare systems! As well as āambulance chasersā the concepts of harpies and vultures and dental not being included with insurance
Iāll have to draw her shadow the Paulbearer soon, her gimmick would be the addition of a new tile type: gold which would continue to increase in value as turns are taken
Some gimmicks Iād like to see for pp enemies would be
rhyming-rebuses-hangman- crossword-ciphers-smsspeak-leetspeak-pig Latin-slot machines-minesweeper-chess-palindromes also adding apostrophes but not apostrophe s
I'm just wondering what happens when the eggs actually hatch. Would red and purple just have to deal with a bunch of imposter/crewmates hybrids running around? (now all I'm imagining is red and purple realizing that they cracked an imposter lol)
Red is a very good role model guys
And yes they would in fact have to deal with a bunch of little worms underfoot
do the other crewmates ever learn that they are the secondary parents to a clutch of murderous alien eggs?
They eventually learn this truth after several behavior changes in green (and a little bit of orange) prompt the crew to start looking at the ore and these mates a much more closely. At first they assumed that the rocks might be carrying some type of virus that changes crewmate behavior a little similar to how black mold would affect someone but that is ruled out as blue, cyan and black work together to come to the conclusion that thereās nothing on the rocks that are effecting their friends but rather something inside. I mean green also just tells them when they rule out enough because the babies hatch soon anyways because they donāt want them to start trying to rip geodes apart (or using drills)

Bodies for puppets are wonderfully weird and soft
I thought that needle felting was the most similar to how tattoos interact on real skin
Would each grub take after one of the crewmates(like shapeshift into a shadow of the crewmateās color, have that crewmateās interests, etc?)
Each grub has a mix of interests and colors, though their ādefaultā is based on their parentās dna- they are little chameleons who are curious in nature. They parrot phrases they hear a lot and mimic behaviors to be āpart of the in groupā- wild imposters do this for higher chances of survival with other species whereas domesticated ones are taught which behaviors to mimic to blend in.
So in short they are all a mix of their environment and what they choose to see as most relevant for fitting in. Some hatchlings are more capricious and some are more cautious due to actual personality which is what helps determine what they should do
that scene from hoppers where george names all the animals of th pond but its just green and the grubs. *green pointing to identical looking grubs*
thats sue, susan, gabe, grenda, anty, ombre, blake, eblla, bladeon
This ask made me remember that theres a bit of a strange thing with naming in among us lol, they are color names obviously but it seems also like family names since purple is actually named violet? Also we donāt actually know what imposterās names are like, I assume they just take the name of whoever they disguise as and donāt actually have common names like crewmates do.
Hereās what I think each crewmate would name their little guy since they agreed it would make sense for them to do it that way instead of arguing about each little grub.
Red: Lighting (has to change it after everyone figures out that itās a misspelling of a very popular video game characterās name) is now crimson light (the suffix was haggled down)
Yellow: Ochre, a no frills traditional crewmate name but is also a clay that changes colors like these little guys
Cyan: Aquamarine, a beautiful blue gem thatās also a birthstone and sounds a little like Aquarius
Brown: Mocha, a sweet coffee name (I mean one of brown and yellows had to be food themed I mean come on)
Black: Onyx, a shiny ingenious ore just like the inside of the eggs that brought them to them
Purple: Scylla, despite contesting redās name is also still a big nerd (half person half deadly tentacles)
Blue, lime and white did not have eggs (yet >:])but still are family
Is Green still like murderous or are they letting the crew live because they are helping with the hatchlings?
will the hatchlings lose their parents? will they miss them? also drop a fanfic
Green still has their murderous instincts but is also smart enough to know that even if they get rid of these crewmates, Mira will still come after their hatchlings regardless
The crewmates are attached to these little ones so green can make the educated assumption that they wouldnāt want to see them harmed. Itās just a matter of how they all plan to see these guys grow up well
If the babies loose their parents i do think theyād miss them since they have a more crewmate centered upbringing, that being loving and caring for young even after they can walk and eat.
If you guys wanna make fanfic of this donāt lemme stop you, though I would like to be mentioned so that I can read them
what do the halflings look like
Grub
These guys have an easier time going from one form to the next, with chromatophores all along their squishy bodies

One in a million
Local space ship full of weird grubs who weirdly like raw dough.
So squishy, may your ship be filled with worms
Orange needs to bite the hand that feeds
The only way for everyone to be happy is to gain class consciousness
Mira only cares for the one percent, no matter how much you give to them
what happened to orange's previous clutches?
Orangeās previous clutches are taken after hatching to undergo Mira training, itās mostly a good deal since young imposters donāt need a very long time with their parents unlike crewmates but still orange wouldāve liked to have raised them deep down. They are teased by some for āthinking too much like a crewmateā
While orange is a model employee, they arenāt the best at showing others how to temper instincts.
Is orange aware that mira is using their children as fuel? If not does that reveal shatter orange's perception of the company?
Orange is under the impression that Mira uses discarded shells or failed to hatch eggs for fuel- they donāt really want to think about the fact that they know Mira doesnāt discriminate, as soon as they donāt hatch on the given deadline they give the ok to burn. Itās the way things have always been but it still hurts.
I think that not being within an echo chamber will make them see that Mira is transactional to everyone besides the top class. Following the rules will only get you so far in terms of happiness

So come on baby let down your guard!
I think these two Lucy and skeeter would be a fascinating relationship due to the push and pull of egos and personas- skeeter is emotionally guarded and competitive, she likes to be the best shes aggressive but she doesnāt like feeling weak. Lucy is petty and kind of underhanded but she plays the role sheās been given well, the push and pull of intimacy is a paradoxical one. She wants you to be close but not fully, she brings you in and pushes you away
This all starts off with some good old fashioned sugar mommy hunting, nothing deep but it turns into something neither of them is ready to deal with
Sorry if this is a weird question but I'm curious, in your among us au (whatever it's called because I don't think I've seen any name for it), how do each of the crewmates react to the whole "being a parent to a shape-shifting alien baby" thing?
I think Iāll call this the egg au for simplicity
Iām planning on drawing this eventually but hereās a list for simplicityās sake
Red: not equipped for being a parent, go figure. Wants to be looked up to as the cool chill parent but is generally irresponsible. They are getting better though
Yellow: Didnt sign up to be taking care of babies but also realizes that Mira was going to use these guys as fuel. It shows how exploitive they are in their head. Wishes to protect them but is equipped to give tough love
Lime: freaked out but oh so vindicated, aliens are real and they arenāt crazy! Morbidly curious but also more so scared of being a parent. Tries to distance the two in their head but itās very hard
Cyan: they donāt care that they are worms their aura is pure and they are theirs! Lots of tears are shed. Almost immediately attached to them
Blue: surprised but is doing the research to make sure that the crew and babies are healthy and taken care of going forward. Responsible and doesnāt mind the more horrifying bits of imposters since itās just another way of surviving like any other -mate species
Purple: anxious about the future, surely Mira will try and punish the crew and these babies for the crime of interbreeding, and also they know about the aliens within Miraās ranks, itās all frankly so scary but they canāt help but hope everything will turn out okay
Black: Has grown closer to the crew before itās too late this time, a bit embarrassed that this all came from all of that but is trying to be less jaded about it all
Brown: a quiet but steady love for these little guys forms, makes parenting decisions with yellow. Both of them learn to their horror that the kids canāt handle a nicely seasoned pizza (no babies exploded)
White: (if this thing is alive) treats the babies kind of like pets due to how they were raised, loves kids but terrible at care. Not too different from how they treat the crew really
