Calling them up even though they have treated you like sh*t in the past isn’t you not having any self respect. It’s about knowing that’s what you need right now and giving yourself just that in a balanced proportion so that 6 months later you’re not texting them paragraphs of emotional messages. I think self respect isn’t about what others think of you but about whatever let’s you be honest to yourself and then doing whatever you have to do to be at peace with yourself.
