Mirielle is one of those super blunt low emotive kids so Gwaine has absolutely no idea how to connect with her at first since his usual tactic when interacting with kids is to go into goofy uncle mode and make them laugh but it doesn't work on Miri LOL

day four: "i’ll never give you up." + gwaine uses his royalty card (protective!gwaine)

ARTHUR: Is that why you’re helping me today?

GWAINE: No, I’m helping you because we’ve got to find Merlin.

ARTHUR: And finding him will be reward enough?

GWAINE: Exactly.

ARTHUR: See, you’re not such a bad person.

GWAINE looks pleased with himself. Then considers something:

GWAINE: Actually, I’m kind of hoping he’ll say “thank you”. Or something along the lines of “Gwaine, you must be the best knight alive. You trekked three miles of muddy swamps, you fought off countless mercenaries, you rode the fastest man has ever ridden, and you still look good”.

ARTHUR sees something moving in the muddy grass up ahead. He puts a hand up to silence GWAINE. They inch forward; very aware of the potential dangers surrounding them. The figure moves again. ARTHUR holds up his sword:

ARTHUR: Declare yourself.

A very muddy, bog-ridden MERLIN steps out of the trees.

GWAINE: I declare you “bog man”.

ARTHUR gets down from his horse. He embraces MERLIN.
