Last but not least, I am doing a gir cosply. I am unsure if I want to do a kigurumi or not, but I have not decided the order with which I will do all of these kigurumis. By the end of 2016, I shall be a pro, lol.
Other future cosplays, yes plural, are my eevee kigurumi and my eevee gijinka. I am more leaning towards the first gijinka image as my main reference than the second, mainly due to my own preferences.....also, the other one has boots, and boots and I do not get along, lol.Â
So, this is one of my upcoming cosplays. My friends and I have created a neko atsume kigurumi group and I am stupidly excited.Â
Understitching — sewing the seam allowance to the lining, working from the back and stitching as close to the seam as possible — lets you make extremely crisp edges.
On the left gif, the cape edge is understitched, so I can effortlessly fold the cape at the edge. Even without ironing it looks like a clean and neat line! The right gif isn’t under stitched; as a result I have to roll and fumble with the fabric to work the seam towards the edge, and it still looks puffy and gross.
If you want clean lines, understitch! It will pull your garment together quickly, and it’s an easy skill to pick up.

Kigurumi pt 1
The frustration is real. I am planning at least two kigurumi cosplays within the next year, hopefully by AUSA 2016, and so far i have not found a kigurumi tutorial/pattern that is plus sized. So, instead of the easy route, i have the long one. I will be posting works in progress pictures as well as a tutorial from this experience. Yes, kigurumi's are one size fits all/most.....but people are not one size. I will be tagging posts with pskigurumi if anyone wants to follow along. Hopefully i can pull this together simply.

My first hand made costume!!!! I pulled an all nighter to finish this one, then continued to not get enough sleep all of the con. This resulted in me almost blacking out on sunday morning as we raced to an early panel. I only drank water and soda all weekend.
