Swipe➡️for process...okay so I cheated a little, it’s not 1/2” plate throughout but rather 3/8” doubled up then blended. Got a little lazy and didn’t weld the inside corners, didn’t think anything of it but after the patina and waxing process a tiny bit of oxidation crept out from those open joints...oh well, lesson learned. Done. Kinda. Probably a little more polishing to go but wanted to see how it looks all put together. A few lessons learned, namely what a shitshow it is trying to weld aluminum on a dirty filthy old piston.
