"That's so fake, that would never happen in real life." No shit Janice, that's why it's called fiction. Not everyone watches it or reads it and treats it like a documentary. Some of us want a break from reality.

"That character's a horrible person! How could you support them? You're a POS!" Well David, maybe I had a shitty day and someone made me mad and it was nice to see someone act out those feelings the way I wanted to but couldn't because I'm a mature, responsible adult who had to bottle it all up and put on a smile.

"Why would you ship those two people together? That doesn't make any sense. Their characters would never be together in canon." Well, you see Deborah, I like both of them, and I think it's fun to play out how their personalities would mesh. Or maybe i just think they're hot together.🤷🏼‍♀️

Fiction is ENTERTAINMENT, not reality, not an instruction manual, not a textbook lesson. It's for fun. Maybe I like that that character is a bitch. Maybe it's nice to see that character get justice even if it wouldn't be so neat and easy irl. Maybe I think a romantic relationship between those two characters creates a more interesting dynamic with better potential than the canon couples.

Liking a character doesn't mean you endorse everything they do and wanting an "unrealistic" outcome doesn't make someone stupid💀 These aren't real people and stories we're throwing our weight behind and supporting. Fiction doesn't always correlate with reality, thats okay. It's really not that deep. You can disagree without hating on someone else's enjoyment of the same material.

It was a pretty smart move to introduce John and Francesca’s entire courtship into the third season when Polin season is about friends who find love. The background chatter about John and Fran being so similar and Violet especially wishing for someone who would challenge her and bring her out of her shell. None of those things preclude falling in love with a friend of course because we see that with Colin and Penelope. They are friends but there is passion, and passion breeds challenge. We know the formula of the show by season 3, each sibling gets one spotlight season, so even those of us who haven’t read the books would know this is not Francesca’s happily ever after, and in the final two minutes of the season, you’re shown exactly why that is. In my view, season 3 was a perfect setup for a lesbian awakening.

Ugh, I've tried to reply to this like twice now so bear with me.

But yes, exactly, Anon. The widows and the others truly to do not understand the importance of staggering storylines in a huge ensemble cast like Bridgerton.

Both Colin, Penelope and Benedict all got subplots that fed into their main story. I mean, Eloise continues to be their main character honestly.

Like, Francesca was damn near mute for two whole seasons. Them starting her story in season 3 adds the necessary emotional weight to her journey. If we had met John in season 5 or even 4, their story would have felt so rushed and episode 7 wouldn't have hit as hard.

And that ending with Michaela was absolutely perfect .

Now we have all this delicious build up for Franchaela and we won't have to spend two or three episodes devoted to her finding a husband, marrying John, meeting Michaela and then him dying.

No, we got multiple scenes showcasing her autism, her lack of passion, talking about pinnacles, her interactions with John vs Michaela, we got to fall in love with John and mourn him respectively and now we get to focus on Michaela and Francesca's relationship. Specifically, we finally get Michaela's POV which is monumental in it's own right.

Well, we got the disappointing news today that Daryl Dixon for some reason is now postponed until sometime in 2027.

But then we also got official confirmation of Emily’s involvement in Dead City season 3 from AMC!

Not only that, but Emily commented about it on Instagram, to which I replied. And then she liked and replied to me! I don’t know, but I’d say this looks pretty positive! She also did not reply to anyone else in the thread as far as I can tell.

What an emotional whiplash kinda day.
