   that’s  all  we  have  time  for  in  this  developer  update,   but  we  hope  you  enjoyed  the  holidays  and  are  excited  for  our  next  lore  event,  which  will  be  about  the  beautiful  budding  relationship  between  zenyatta  and  a  sentient  payload.

   ‘ HEY   GUYS   it’s   Jeff   from   Overwatch   here   to   kinda  explain   some   things   that   are  going   on   within   the   lore   of   the   game.   We’ve   recently   gotten   a   lot   of   comments   about   how   Zenyatta’s   skins   look   kind   of  scary,   which,    uh   – ‘   laughs.   ‘   – is   kind  of   funny  to   the  rest  of  us  on   the  Overwatch   team,   since  Zenyatta   is    actually   one   of   the  main   villains   of   the   overwatch   universe.   I   mean,   the  guy   has   the  ability   to   rip   the  essence  of   a  soul   in   half   and   then   use  it  to   either  heal   you   or  invoke   a   plague   on   you,   and  you  don’t   think   that’s  scary?   anyway,   you   guys   are  gonna   learn   more   when   moira   starts  becoming   a   selectable   character.   people   will   be   unable   to   pick   miora   and  zenyatta  at   the  same  time,   and  that’s   actually  because   moira    IS   Zenyatta.   If   you   rip   off  all   her   skin,   Zenyatta’s    what’s   under   there. ‘

    in   the   words   of   our   beloved   widow   mains,   picks   or   it   didn’t    happen.   remember   that    all    lies   will   result   in   an   instant   permaban   from   competitive.

‘   HEY  GUYS   it’s  Jeff  from  Overwatch  here  with  some  updates,  mostly  about  Soldier:  76.  So,  ever  since  the beginning  of  this  game,   you  guys  have  been  really  welcoming  of  your  own  perceptions  of  these   dynamics,  and   obviously  the  biggest  one  has  been  the   WHITE   DAD   TROPES  with   Soldier.   Now,   lately  there’s  been  a  call  for  more   diversity,  and we  really  want  you  guys   to   know   that   we’ve  been  listening,  so  we’ve  decided   to  change  Soldier  to  the  ITALIAN   race.  michael  is   still   working   this out,  so  there’s  only  so  much  I  can  tell  you  guys,  but  basically, he’s  raised  by momma  mia  and  papa  john and he   always  wanted  to  follow  in  the  footsteps  of  his  famous  uncles,  MARIO and  LUIGI.  so  when  the  omnic  crisis  came he  was kinda  forced  to,  y’know,  serve  his  duty  and  eat  magic spaghetti  like  his  uncles  did,  but instead  of  becoming  a  magic  plumber  he  became  a  supersoldier.  so,  obviously,   soldier  comes  from  the  very  ethnic  italian   upbringing,  which  we    felt   makes   a  HUGE   difference  in  his  backstory.  It’s  kind  of   exactly  the  same    as   being  white,  but   now    with   OREGANO.   we   hope  you  guys  enjoy  this  addition  to  this  very   diverse  roster.  in  light  of  that,  we’re  adding  a  new  ability  to  Soldier  that  we’re  putting  into   the  PTR  for  you  guys  in  about  a  week  –  it’s  called  the   BELLA  NOTTE.  basically  what  happens  is  Soldier  beats  other  players  to  death  with  an  accordion.  We  REALLY  think  you   guys  are  gonna  love  it,  and  we  can’t  wait  to  see  what  you  guys  think.   ’

 ‘ HEY   GUYS    it’s   Jeff   from   the   Overwatch   team  and   i   just   wanted   to   say   i    love   what   the   fandom’s   done   with   mercy.   all   the   sfm   porn   with   her   head   badly   pasted   onto   a   mismatched   naked   body   has   really   kept   the   interns   stimulated.   the   way   she’s   portrayed   as   the   entire   roster’s   waifu   is ,  uh ,  very   much   what   we   had   in   mind   with   her   design ,   so   i’m   glad   that   our   talented   team   of   artists   could   convey   that   so   clearly.   and   all   the   infighting   over   whether   or   not   mercy   was   responsible   for   the   downfall   of   overwatch   was   exactly   the  sort   of   spirited   discussion   that   we   wanted   to   promote   with   our   lore.   some   fans   have   even   taken   the ‘ soft wheeze  ‘   naughty   side   of   mercy   a   step   further.   i’ve   been   in   the   tags   and   seeing   all   the   posts   where   pharah  is   drawn   as   her   dog   or  genji  is   being   stepped   on,   and   all   the   great   fanfics   about   her   fixing   reaper,   they   really   represent   the   entire   diverse   and   progressive   message   that   overwatch   was   created   to   perpetuate.   we ,  um ,  originally   meant   to   ship   her   with   torbjörn,   but   this   is    much   better.   so   thank   you   for   taking   her   off   our   hands.   we   always   try   to   listen   to   fan   feedback,   which   is   why   we’ll   be   removing   mercy   from   the   game   and   replacing   her   with   a   body   pillow. ‘

  ‘ HEY   GUYS    it’s   Jeff   from    Overwatch   and   we’ve   been   receiving   a   lot   of   questions  regarding  sombra’s  hack  ability.  uh,  specifically,  how  she  can  hack  non-omnic  characters.  while  we  encourage  fan  speculation  and  enjoy  the  theories  that  you  guys  come  up  with  -  i  really  liked  the  one  where  sombra  blackmails  soldier  into  limping  every  time  she  tickles  his  saggy  armpits, or  that  she  takes  him  out  back  and  breaks  his  kneecaps  with  a  rusty  pipe,  which  was  my  first  suggestion  -  but  it’s  time  to  clarify.  sombra  can  hack  flesh.  her  powers  have  never  been  limited  to  just  machines.  she  can  interface  with  your  minds  and  force  you  to  do  her  dark  bidding.  when  we  were  developing  sombra  this  rapidly  became  a  problem  for  us  because  she  hacked  my  intern  karen  and  forced  her  to  spill  hot  coffee  all  over  my  leg,  resulting  in  second  degree  burns.  if  you’re  wondering  why  the  halloween  lootbox  drop  rates  were  so  shitty,  it’s  because  we  had  to  pay  my  hospital  bills  so  please  understand.   she  is  a  flesh  witch  and  you  need  to  watch o
