     “Oh, of course not” Wally frowned, shaking his head. “There’s pretty much zero excuse to be an asshole to your kids…but that’s just my opinion” he gave a light shrug. He had no children of his own so there was no telling what his parenting style would be like but Wally was determined to make sure that he was always there for any kids that he did have one day - theoretically, of course. Kids would require settling down and the speedster had never been good at that stuff. “Right? The worst”

Amelia chuckled and nodded her head. “If only everyone shared that opinion. And thankfuly most due. But, like always, there are the oddballs...” Amelia said with a small sigh. Amelia has definitely seen her fair share of horrible parents. Being a mercenary, she made sure to go after only those who have rather bad track records...And it can definitely show most of the time in someone’s home life. She’s walked in to kill a target in the middle of a abuse situation, lover an kids, many of times. Still...Amelia liked to think that not everyone was assholes with their kids. “At least now I know you don’t have the worst taste.” She teased playfully.

     “I don’t know you well enough to know that you don’t always say what you mean” he stated with a weak shrug. Sarcasm and humor could be lost on Damian on occasion, but he was getting better at picking up on them when he knew a person well. “Alfred could have made you something to your preference if you’d asked…but they are indeed. On that, we can agree”

Amelia rolled her eyes. “Most people wouldn’t exactly go around admitting that,” Amelia pointed out before thinking that over. “Let me rephrase that. Most people that aren’t in jail, that is.” Amelia said with a shrug of her shoulders. “Nah, no need. These were perfect for me.” Amelia didn’t have much of a sweet tooth, but she wasn’t going to have some poor guy slave away at a kitchen for her when these glorious things were available.

     “I don’t put drugs into my body” Damian replied simply. There was no way that he could be certain, but he trusted Alfred implicitly. He didn’t even drink coffee. “It’s a lot more sugar than I’m usually one to indulge in too, but I can never seem to turn them down” It had become a comfort food, but that was something he would take to the grave. Heroes didn’t need comforting.

Amelia rolled her eyes as she heard the boy’s words. “It was a joke. You don’t think I genuinely thought cocaine was in here, did you?” Amelia asked with a snort of amusement. Amelia hummed and nodded her head. “I’m not the biggest on sweets. More of a spicy and savory girl myself. But these are definitely A-tier.”

     “Parents like to think that we owe it to them to do whatever they think is right for us…it’s a pretty tough break for them when they’re forced to realize that we’re our own people with our own hopes and aspirations” Wally nodded gently. He didn’t like to assume, but he could picture that her father had served before her and expected that she was going to do the same. “Sounds like a lose, lose” he sighed. “Oh, for sure. You’d have better luck just winging it”

Amelia snorted and nodded her head. “Don’t I know it,” Amelia said with a chuckle when the redhead said that it’s a tough break for them. “Doesn’t mean they should act like assholes though.” Amelia said with a roll of her eyes. But there was no way that she was going to serve for a government that tried to kill her. Hell, that still does from time to time. She’d rather do things her own way. “Oh for sure. They definitely have gotten me even more lost before.” Amelia said with a chuckle.

     “Fairly certain, Yes” Damian rolled his eyes, settling into his seat as he watched her take the plate. There had been no room to behave like a child before Damian had come to live with his father, Bruce. It was an odd combination, really, that in some ways the youngest Wayne was mature far beyond his years while in others, he was little more than a petulant child. Not that he would ever admit to the latter. “They’re really exceptional. Alfred has a secret ingredient to get them so fluffy, I’m convinced..”

Amelia couldn’t help but to chuckle as the other rolled his eyes. Amelia nodded her head after she ate one and let out a small hum. “Yeah, they're not bad.” Amelia said after swallowing. Normally she wouldn’t give a shit about etiquette and manners and all that, but she definitely wasn’t trying to piss off any of these people. The blonde has enough enemies as it is. “Sure it’s not cocaine?” Amelia asked after another bite.

    “Yeah…for the most part, definitely. Do you?” the redhead nodded gently, returning the question. His family, just like every other, was not without it’s faults but Wally was grateful that his family was relatively close. He supposed that it helped when half of your family were also speedsters. They just…got it. “Definitely. I’m getting why it’s called the Big Apple, too. I’ve gotten lost more times than I’d care to admit, honestly…”

“Not at all,” Amelia said honestly with a shrug of her shoulders. “My father wasn’t thrilled when I left the military. Said I should be serving until I can’t do it physically.” Amelia said with a roll of her eyes. “Which is funny considering how he had been lecturing me about how I shouldn’t join when I first told him I was considering it.” Amelia said with a chuckle and a shake of her head. “My favorite is how inaccurate the maps are. Seems like every other week something is being changed.”

     “Don’t ask, seriously. I’ve been over it myself about a hundred times and I still can’t seem to make sense of it, but..” he sighed, shrugging weakly. “I am not a child” Damian grumbled, ignoring the fact that he deserved it after calling her Lady. “But so long as we’re agreed..” he rose from his stool, grabbing a second plate and a clean fork which he used to push half of his pancakes onto the plate for her. “Here”

Amelia couldn’t help but to smirk. Honestly, she didn’t understand some people’s obsessions with clowns. It was a rather...Odd and weird thing to be obsessed with. Although Amelia may or may not have a slight obsession with weapons, so she supposes she can understand that. “You sure? Cause you definitely act like it sometimes.” Amelia responded before graciously taking the plate. “Thanks.” Amelia sai as she took the plate.

     “Me too” It wasn’t like he really needed coffee and it was rare that Wally would drink any but when he did he just wanted something simple. “Oh I felt that one” he chuckled, nodding. Being fast was great but Wally had to make sure that he could fight without that power, just in case. “I’ve been keeping myself busy, trying to adjust to life here in New York. Some of my family is here so it’s kind of cool to see them more often”

Amelia hummed and nodded her head. “Do you have a good relationship with your family?” Amelia asked the young man curiously. Her relationship with her family was...Tedious at best. “New York is definitely a place unlike any other.” Amelia said with a chuckle and a nod of her head.

     “Listen, Lady…the last time that I shared my food to try and help those in need I got stuck with a busted clown that won’t leave me alone. I’m not inclined to believe that you’d be anywhere near are irritating as he is, but alas, it’s a risk that I’m unwilling to take after the first mistake” Damian stated, entirely serious. “But you may have a pancake if you verbally agree that you understand that an offering of food does not imply an invitation for friendship…I should be getting ready for patrol, anyways”

Amelia snorted when the other called her a lady. And as she heard the boy’s words, Amelia chuckled. “A clown? How the hell-” Amelia shook her head. Amelia wasn’t exactly ‘clown’ material. Something tells her that her sense of humor would not be on par with a clown. Amelia rolled her eyes. “Ah yes, I forgot. The sacrafice of food is the ultimate befriending ritual.” Amelia said dryly. “Listen, kid, I understand that we’re not nor going to be friends. I just want a damn pancake.”

     Wally had tried, but he always seemed to find that he was in a different place in the relationship to his partner. He’d yet to find any kind of equilibrium and he was happy enough on his own that it wasn’t something that overly bothered him until he really thought about it too much. “Right? I really don’t understand the hype on iced coffee” the redhead shrugged. “Anyways, what’s new with you?”

Amelia let out a chuckle as she heard the redhead’s words. “I’ve never been big on it. I prefer mine the old fashion way.” Amelia said with a shrug of her shoulders. “Nothing much. Just been hitting the gym a bit more. Trying to bulk up at least a little bit. Can’t always rely on my speed and flexibility, you know?” Amelia said with a chuckle. “How about yourself?”

Peter smiled at her comfortably, shrugging his shoulders. “Sometimes it does get a little difficult,” he agreed, still amiable despite the context of the conversation. He listened as she spoke, a soft sigh falling from his lips. He had wanted to be a police officer all his life, and even so, he knew that there were plenty of ways that the law needed to be fixed. Not just in Gotham or New York, but everywhere. And that was part of why he wanted the job he wanted n the first place. 

“You’re right,” he said. “It’s not on you. The law isn’t perfect, but neither is the idea of taking it into your own hands. Either way, innocent people get hurt, and nothing actually changes.” He could easily launch into a speech on the subject – he was passionate about it, to say the least – but he stopped himself for two reasons. One, he could easily sense that nothing he could say would change this woman’s mind, and two, it really wasn’t the time. 

He offered another little smile. “No, sorry about that. Another pesky thing about me.”

The blonde woman’s eyes lookd at the other as he agreed with her. But she knew that there was no changing his mind. She’s ran into her fair share of them a time or two. She made sure to never kill them, she nor her team takes innocent lives after all...But that didn’t mean they didn’t go home with a bruise or two if they escalated to physical contact. Amelia’s body tensed as the other began to talk, and she was surprised that he was actually agreeing with her. 

Amelia lets out a snort and shakes her head. “My crew follows morals. We don’t take innocent lives. We’re very selective when it comes to the hits.” Amelia said with a shrug of her shoulders. A soft sigh escaping her lips when the other said that he wasn’t going to let her go. 

“That’s unfort-” Cutting herself off mid sentence, she brought her hand up and channeled a small pulse of her energy into the gauntlet, a pink wave attempting to fling the other back as she cautiously made her way to the door. “You’re outgunned here.” Amelia warned.

     “I wouldn’t know. Never really been a relationship kind of guy” Wally shrugged, making himself comfortable as he reached for the other coffee cup, lifting it to his lips and taking a small sip. “Yeah, I guess every generation has something” he snorted softly. Nobody was perfect, after all. “Luckily I’m fast so the coffee is still hot, though. That would have been a real bummer”

Amelia let out a chuckle as she heard Wally’s words. “I know how you feel on that one. Never been one to settle down.” Amelia said with a shrug of her shoulders. “The worst thing in the world is cold coffee.” Amelia said with a dramatic nod of her head. As if she had just given him the biggest secret to the world.

     “Yes” he responded simply. Damian couldn’t help it. He’d been told that he was the rightful heir to the throne of an entire underground kingdom from the moment that he was born and despite living with his father for many years now, sharing was a concept that he still struggled to get onboard with. “Good guys can’t be hungry?” he quirked a brow. He knew that it wasn’t what she had meant, but still.

Amelia let out a snort as she shook her head. “Oh they can. But good guys are also supposed to be caring and share with those in need.” The blonde woman teased with a smirk as she looked at the boy with a smirk. “Now stop being a little punk and be a good boy.” Amelia teased playfully with a cheeky smirk on her face.

     “So…anyways. Long story short is that I was waiting in line for our drinks and it was taking a little while so I got to talking to this girl called Becky and I got a little too invested in listening to her talk about how she broke up with her boyfriend because he was a Gemini” Wally shrugged, moving to place the two coffee cups down. “I would have thought that it was because he cheated on her but…what do I know?”

Amelia let out a snort as she shook her head. “I can’t really say anything. Your generation wows me every day, sometimes good and sometimes bad.” Amelia said with a chuckle before thinking. “Well...I suppose mine does the same thing. Although mostly the latter.” She jested with a smirk as she took one of the cups of coffee.

     “Get back, fiend! Unless you wish to taste my blade!” Damian threatened, something that might have been more normal had he been pursuing a criminal and not protecting the stack of blueberry and cinnamon pancakes that Alfred had prepared for him. “If you were hungry then you should have said something while Alfred was still cooking but alas, now you must perish. How sad”

Amelia quirked an eyebrow as she heard the young man’s words. Amelia let out a snort and shook her head. “I didn’t realize how stingy you were, Damian. Have you always been this way?” Amelia teasingly asked with a smirk and a shake of her head. “And here I thought you were one of the good guys.”

“I’ve heard that before,” Peter said mildly. “I think it’s genetic.” He was sure people had said that to his father plenty of times. In fact, he’d probably guess that half the population back at Arkham and Blackgate would have something to say about that – and that was probably the most mild thing they’d have to say about Jim Gordon. And all Peter had ever wanted was to follow in his dad’s footsteps, even if that lead down a dangerous road. Part of that was, of course, the fact that he’d gotten the idea into his head when he was a little boy who idolized his father. But as he grew up, that had matured into a genuine desire to help and protect others, to make the city he lived in a better place.

He knew that his career path was rife with corruption, and the proof was right in front of him. He’d been able to sniff out the trail connecting the higher ups to the woman standing there, which was more than likely going to bite him in the ass – if not immediately, then definitely further on down the line. “Probably not,” he said. “Just because cops asked you to do this doesn’t mean it’s not against the law.” He paused, thinking about it. “Actually, I think that makes it worse. From a moral standpoint and all.” Peter sighed softly. “I’m guessing you’re not gonna make this easy on me, huh?”

A snort escaped Amelia’s lips as she heard the man’s words. “Well, that’s one pesky genetic to have. Could be given all the powers in the world, and to be given shitty timing? Tragic.” Amelia said as she pretended to sorrowfully shake her head. Hearing the other then talk about what she was doing was against the law had Amelia snort. She used to be the perfect, law-abiding citizen. And then the govenment gave her a suicide mission, and got mad when she and her team escaped and tried to killer her. Now, she simply does what she needs to do in order to survive. As long as she and her team of mercs feel like they’re helping the ‘good’ people, she had nothing on her conscious. 

“I don’t care about the law,” Amelia said bluntly. “The law is stopping some people from going to jail for crimes that are far worse than the crimes that people are getting caught for. So if someone says they need help stopping someone because SOMEONE forgot to read their Miranda Rights? Then that’s not on me.” Amelia said with a shrug of her shoulders. 

“Sorry love. Nothing about me is easy. So I’m assuming your not going to just let me go?” 

Not his most graceful moment. Then again SHAZAM wasn’t very much known for his grace. He was a powerhouse, not an ice skater. He let out a groan after hitting (bouncing off?) the pavement. “Not my best landing.” The hero grimaced. / @assemblestarter​

Amelia blinked as she saw the other hit the pavement. Amelia’s gauntlets  glowed brightly as she got into a defensive stance. “I’ll be kind and give you an A for effort.” She said dryly. “What are you doing here?” Amelia demanded to know, getting straight to the point and being as blunt as always.
