Afterword
We felt that it would be a good idea to leave a memo here for those who have missed out on the closure of this blog. Back when we started this blog in 2015, we knew that someday it would be over, but we did not expect it to be over rampant harassment by certain groups of people. We actually wanted to delete this blog as whole just to be done with it, but our second admin has been missing and unreachable ever since, therefore it has to stay online.
The lesson of the whole ordeal was that interacting with the overseas community is not worth it. Over the years, we had to keep dealing with hateful and just flat out racist messages because apparently you need to be a walking-talking stereotypes of what overseas perceives as "real japanese people" in order to have your information taken as "legit". It has been a very hurtful experience, and we can see now why most locals avoid interacting outside of the jp online sphere. The moment you are somewhat decent in the english language, they will deny you of your background because those dumb japanese could never possibly write in anything but gibberish - at least that's how it sounds. Even stranger was those who claimed to be "real japanese", while constantly writting during peak US timezone hours, as part of the harassment. As a "fellow local", you are aware that a meetup would be an option to quickly settle this? Our head admin works for the media company stationed in the Shinjuku Ark House, it's not hard to make an appointment!
Having said that, our gratitude and thanks go out to those who have followed us and were by our side for those many years. This blog will remain inactive with our inbox still open for those who still need anything.
Goodbye.
