We have decided to turn Menagerie into a private rp as we enter a break, in which the dash will not close down, people may still roleplay, the Discord chat will still be up, however, we will not be accepting applications, post events, or activity checks.Ā
Both of us admins have found ourselves busier than expected with real life obligations, and we understand that many of you have been facing new university and work changes too. So we figured it was wise and healthy to take a breather.
But of course, weād like to thank you guys so very much for sticking around with us for so long! Very close to a year in fact! We consider you all friends we hold dear & have grown close to. Family. And weāll forever be grateful for having such a dedicated and friendly group of players, so please donāt hesitate to keep in touch ā”.
The earliest either of us could actively admin together again is in December/January .
Our plans are to consider thisĀ SEASON ONE of the Menagerie, ending just before we planned to reveal our biggest plot twist.Ā SEASON TWO, is where we plan to begin again, and we plan to do so in flames. What weāve waited almost a year to reveal, is weāve been building up for the rebels to burn the Big Top down with Metzger inside (whether intentionally or not).
However, heās not dead.
When the flames die, there is one man still standing; Metzger, transformed into a ReaperĀ (Another name for Death, a Reaper is a mysterious trickster capable of shifting into any human form. Reapers are the longest-lived Cryptid known to date, their full lifespan unknown. But they gain years to their life by taking others, or by making people suffer.)Ā
So, Metzger, at 300 years old, has been lying for decades that the Menagerie is family-run, when it has only been him, causing suffering to extend his life. Even perhaps fanning the flames of the rebellion at times just to put them down again, to let their suffering increase. And Aladdin was the first to face him for it - and died by Metzgerās hands.Ā However, it all becomes complicated when Metzger is still in control; the Cryptids donāt know how to leave, and another, Volkov, could take over too - but would he be better, or even worse?Ā
And itāll be discovered too that the Starlight Carnival was burned down in a similar rebellion. But by Volkov himself, so he could begin his plans to take over the Menagerie from Metzger. How much control does your character truly have over their lives? Just what kind of pawns are they in Metzgerās, and now Volkovās, game? (Becoming more complicated again when Volkov truly believes he is helping the Cryptids, a savior, not a man worse than Metzger when pushed to his worst.)
