You’re back ! And you’re just in time to celebrate the anniversary of Raoul’s milkshakification !
@vicomte-raoul-de-chagny @sweetest-soprano
The fact that this is something that is still being remembered is absolutely hysterical to André.
Firmin, on the other hand, looks at you like you've grown a second head. "I...beg your pardon?"
"Oh, my God," André says, grabbing Firmin's shoulder. "Oh, you don't know, do you?"
Indeed, Firmin does NOT know, as the milkshake incident occurred before this was a multi-muse blog.
"What the hell are you two on about?? Is...Is this– Is there a joke I wasn't let in on???"
“I look forward to the joyous celebrations!
I have some champagne in my dressing room..though maybe I should procure a more suitable celebratory beverage.”
Francine has had this marked upon her calendar since January.
Firmin desperately wishes for context. "What the hell are we celebrating!?"
"Calm down, Firmin," André chastises. "Now, never fret, I do believe I have a rather fine vintage stored away in the office. I think it and your champagne will do nicely, mademoiselle."
"Wha–!? You–"
"Yes, I hid it from you," André sighs. "Would you have let it be if I had not?"
"...No," Firmin grumbles. "And I still want to know what we're celebrating."
André pats him on the shoulder condescendingly. "Oh, you'll find out."
"Do not patronize me."
“Does the topic of celebration really matter when wine and champagne are involved?”
Francine also refuses to explain/brag - though whether it is out of amusement or maturity is up to interpretation.
For André, it is most certainly out of amusement.
"Yes," he says, "I do believe Miss Garnier is correct."
Firmin grumbles in disagreement, "Je suis entouré d'idiots. Donnez-moi des clous rouillés à manger – ce sera plus supportable que ça!"
André disregards his partner's grousing, continuing, "Oh, do you think we ought to provide something to eat? Something...milk-based, perhaps?"
He grins – it's a real shit-eating grin, the sort you wear when you know you're being an asshole.
“I can certainly procure some nails if it is desired.”
Francine was already making a list.
“..perhaps strawberries would be appropriate..”
"Just because you are a lady," Firmin says, "that doesn't mean I'm afraid of telling you to–"
"Now, Firmin, none of that. Go have a drink, why don't you?"
"I shall. Et ensuite, je vais te botter le cul, André."
André stammers. "I– ...Anyway. I will see what I can...procure."
“Tell me to what?”
Francine didn’t look up from her current task, with a kind of energy that is reminiscent of the ‘what are you gonna do? fire me?’ mindset. (No better comparison could be thought of)
"Hmph. Nothing."
This is not a fight that Firmin is willing to tackle. André mumbles something about cowardice.
"What was that?" Firmin asks him.
André coughs, before smiling politely. "Nothing at all."
