Youâre not a real loona stan if you donât eat Möbius bagels.
tag yourself: sexy math shapes edition
the torus (aka donut)
this ones gets bonus points for being rainbow
no edge ~
möbius strip
fancy, because it has an umlaut
one edge
very diy-able
archimedes spiral
itâs so symmetrical
the original spiralâą
spiralling before the rest of the world knew what they were missing
logarithmic spiral
this is my favourite
itâs so beautiful
the gravitational waves around two orbiting objects look like this
itâs too perfect I canât say any more
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
helix
bonus points for being half of dna
this is where when we were learning about circular motion and my class went to the local university and we saw how if you shoot a ray of electrons on an angle through an electric and magnetic field they make a helix and then my teacher said that because it was basically just circular motion and regular straight motion so we knew all the math for it and then he proceeded to not let us do the math for it and i have not recovered.
not as complicated as it looks
conical helix
LOOK AT THIS SHIT
too freaking cool for this world
how you will spiral to your doom
or fly wildly up to heaven
so mathy that the best picture i found of them uses more ink for the math than the beautiful fancy spiral
stellated dodecahedron
fancy math star
happy and complicated but solid and dependable
pointy
sphere
godâs perfect child
philosophers like them
curvy
THIS cool-ass flower thing
itâs the orbit of a tiny thing around a less tiny thing around a huge thing
ellipses have my heart but this is basically a circle moving in a circle and it makes a flower and thatâs some real cool shit there
intimidating math
popular spirograph shape
truncated icosahedron
truncated apparently means it has the top or end cut off
it sounds like a weird elephant surgery
just wanted to be a simple icosahedron
not pointy
soccer ball!
a cool unity of pentagons and hexagons and fake spheres
itâs also a bucky ball for the real nerds here #C60đ
